Using Spacescape skyboxes in O3DE

Open Spacescape, load your skybox file and turn on HDR using the
Settings>Enable HDRmenu option.

(Optional) disable all the star layers in your skybox if you intend to use the Stars Gem and component in spacescape.

Select
File>Exportand select theSingle DDS Cube Maptype andExport For OGRE 3D
Choose a path inside your project. -
In the O3DE Editor, find your exported skybox file, right click on it and select
Edit Texture Settings -
Change the preset to
Skyboxin theTexture Settingsdialog that appears

Press
Applyand thenClose -
To use the skybox, add an
HDRi Skyboxcomponent on an entity in your scene - or find the existingHDRi Skyboxcomponent in your scene, and set theCubemap Textureto your skybox image. Then, adjusts the Exposure to your liking. You can also rotate the skybox by adjusting the rotation of the Transform component on the same entity as the skybox. -
(Optional) if you are using the Stars gem, you can add a
Starscomponent which will draw stars on top of the skybox. Adjust theExposureof theStarsso it blends as desired with the skybox.
