Kotlin clean code and best practices

Clean Code Rules

Our main aim is to have a clean code, avoid common silly mistakes and reduce the load on engineers during PR reviews. This is a team effort and If anyone has something that’s generally applicable, let’s talk and decide whether it should be baked into our style guide— so everyone can benefit from it

The bad code creates a lot of distractions. It causes developers to waste time and energy navigating through functions, classes, and files, and pouring over code trying to understand it.

Working on a project where developers care about clean code makes it easy to understand its virtues; the developer can read the code from top to bottom in one go and clearly understand what it does. It makes code manageable and maintainable in the long term, isolating changes and increasing the efficiency of the team.

Playwright Cheatsheet

Playwright

Suggested patterns

Try observing Codegen patterns to get a sense of how you'll actually need to write your awaits.

Playwright can be finicky about how you wait for things (perhaps why Cypress auto-waits). A good pattern:

const myElement = page.locator(someSelector); // note the lack of `await` here; you don't need the await until you're actually trying to assert or perform an action.

Managing multiple Java versions in MacOS

Installing different versions of open jdk through Homebrew(assuming already installed) and already having Java 8.

We need to install a tool called jenv - Java version manager which is similar to nvm(nodeJs version manager).

brew install jenv

Export the jenv path to .bash_profile or .zshrc - whatever you are using. I am using .zshrc

crack activate office on mac with license file

Activate MS Office 2019/2016 for macOS - Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer

Office 2019 above

2019-06-03

Note that Office2019 DO NOT support activate via simple copy/paste plist license file which is the simplest way to activate Office 2016. Fortunately, you can also use the VL Serializer tool, just install Office 2019 and Serializer, then run Serializer to activate.
