| # Strengths Reflection & Coaching Request | |
| ### Read Through Your Theme Definitions | |
| 1. What words or phrases stick out to you? How would you define each of your top 5 talents in your own words? | |
| " You do not necessarily shy away from meeting new people—in fact, | |
| you may have other themes that cause you to enjoy the thrill of turning strangers into friends." This resonates with me deeply, as I tend to have many friends, but also a set close to me who I spwnd the most time with. | |
| Relator, tends to get to know people fairly well. Learner, always is on the hunt to keep learning and try new things, whether that be a new cooking recipe or a concert. Command, has a habit of taking charge and guiding a group with knowledge and experience. An analytical likes facts and data to support arguments. Harmony wants everyone to get along because conflict makes them feel uncomfortable. | |
| 2. Do these top 5 talent themes resonate with you? Why or why not? | |
| They do. I find myself working on teames with like minded people that get along, love to learn, work hard, and who are happy about life. | |
| 3. How have you seen yourself using each of these talents? How often do you see yourself using these talents? | |
| I definetely use my talents, but after doing this assesment, I find that I wish I used them more! In my previous job, I noticed that people want to be around me becuase I have a skill to get along with everyone and keep the team happy around eachother. | |
| 4. When has it been difficult for me to be aware of this talent? | |
| All the time. Its difficult to be honest with myself when I continually want to learn to be a better person or mimic someone elses strengths. The truth is that leaving my head to be my own self has a greater impact on my life and I wish to harness this more here at Turing. | |
| 5. What talents could you develop further that would help you in your growth at Turing and in your new career as a software developer? | |
| I want to follow through and see goals met. I also want to analyse situations or code, step away, and imagine possible outcomes. From that, nuturing the futuristic and creative side of me is something I would love to dive into while I build software. | |
| 6. How would you like to build more awareness around these themes? | |
| I think first of all, build self awareness. This assesment was particularly enlightening right now. Keping the strengths I learned recently in mind, harnessing them, keeping them in my forethought and building upon sounds really interesting. | |
| 7. In which situations would developing these themes be beneficial? | |
| Working with teams perhaps? Stepping away right now, its hard not think past the current situtation of school and future jobs. I sense I will have to come back here with an open mind to pick out other situations. | |
| 8. When might you overuse any of these themes? How might you benefit from dialing it down in a certain situation? | |
| When I am in a new group, I would say that being commanding is probably too invasive at first without the trust of the people around me. | |
| 9. How could you use these themes to help you manage an area in which you might struggle? | |
| Asking for help comes to mind when I a not having the ability to learn. | |
| 10. How can you do more of what you do best every day? | |
| Engage with the people around me and show that they can trust me in any type of situtation. | |
| ### Look at the Suggested Action Items | |
| 11. What options sound doable? | |
| 12. What are some new ways to use these themes that you haven't utilized before? | |
| 13. What obstacles are there to trying out any of these options? | |
| 14. Shortterm: What is an action step you'd like to commit to help you develop your themes further today? Next week? | |
| 15. Longterm: What do you want to learn this module to turn your talents into greater strengths? How will this help you with your professional or personal goals? | |
