  • Not all restrictions are currently possible
  • The goal is for Severed Chains to enable these restrictions upon mod support
  • For now, the mod Irongoon is the way to go

In the meantime you can consider

  • Categories with incomplete restrictions can be labelled as Dabas runs
  • "Dabas IronGoon run", "Dabas Ultimate IronGoon run"

About

An IronGoon run will take you on a unique and grueling journey to test your skills in the randomizer flavour of vigeo game playthroughs.

  • Iron means to stand alone; this means using only one character
  • Randomization of game play elements is encouraged
  • Shops, drops, chests, goods, stats, additions, dragoons, and more will be restricted in some way

Inspired by Ironmon in the Poke community.

IronGoon

The main challenge category for all types of players. Intended to be a fun and fresh experience with each attempt. Forgiving for non-beginners.

Iron Challenge Use only one character (non-unique) in your battle party during the run
Village Outcast Shops are randomized respectively, max 5 items per shop
Run Slow You must complete all encounters (ok if mobs run away)
Soa's Fruit Stats are summed, then randomly distributed back to each stat for characters and enemies
Drake's Trickery All non-story chests have their drops randomized for unique equipment drops: eq may only appear once; remaining chests are filled with attack / effect / healing items
Attack Cube Field mobs all have at least one physical attack and one spell / item attack; randomized but fixed for the run
Wargod Ruin Addition learn level is randomized from Levels 1 to 30; using a distribution curve
Embryo's Favour Bosses drop 5 guaranteed items: are randomized from attack / effect / healing / equipment

Ultimate IronGoon

A much harder but somewhat forgiving set of restrictions. Your Legend of Dragoon skills will be tested.

Shops will have 3 items per shop.

Decaying World Experience earned is reduced by 25%

Meru Party All music is randomized
Haschel Party All sound effects are randomized

Kaizo IronGoon

The hardest challenge. An unforgiving set of restrictions for the most committed. The restrictions are meant to be insane and tough. Runs should yield praise and pride if completed.

Shops will have 2 items per shop and will not respect shop type.

Ancient World Bosses are 40% stronger, minibosses 60%, mobs 80%
Indora's Rage You may only guard once in a row
Embryo's Gift Bosses now drop just 1 item
??? ?A field mob grinding twist or some restriction to prevent just powerleveling a character before moving on?
Flanvel's Climb All optional bosses / mini-bosses must be defeated
Grief for Lavitz SP accumulation is reduced by 50%
Lloyd's Guilt Element pairings do 350% damage and same elements do 25% damage

Settings

  • EXP will need to be adjusted for a solo run
  • 64 slot item limit or higher is most likely needed, or made smaller
  • 2 of each item limit, no stacks, potentially higher for regular irongoon
  • Turbo or auto does no matter
  • Dragoon ideas not thought out yet
