Did you ever have any luck dumping firmware from this accursed tablet? I'm not sure that it's worth the effort but it is about principles at this point. I am pursuing a couple points of attack so if I have any luck I'll drop another note in case it is still relevant to you.

Alas, my never-ending uphill battle ended not in victory, but in silence————the "thing" stopped booting up after only a year or so of use. Perhaps it decided that it had tormented me enough.

(Well TBH, I left the tablet in a car on a sunny day, so it is my bad. I bought an Amazon Fire tablet instead ;-)

However, I DO am curious about your info. Please feel free to dump any info to share!

I managed to extract some of it but without the correct offsets it isn't usable for much unless you are patching by offset through rkdevtool. On a positive note uboot is full of strings that would seem to indicate that the uboot console hasn't been explicitly disabled.

Wow, if console access isn’t fully blocked, that’s a promising angle. I agree.

On offsets, could you share which parts are missing (loader / U-Boot / env)? With that, someone might be able to provide a map or dumps. 🤞
