The readings and responses listed here should take you approximately 60 minutes.

• Understanding doesnt build fluency, fluency builds understanding.
• Study materials do exist in the tech industry, they're just harder to find becasue they might not be what you expect.
• The hardest thing to learn when starting out is learning how to google efficiently.
• Writing code is similiar to writing a story with all of the connected characters and themes.
• I thought the way she learned Mandarin was interesting and I will try out her techniques of memorizing and writing out words when I am learning Ruby.

3. Do Experienced Programmers Use Google Frequently? by Umer Mansoor (10 min)

• Experienced programmers use google more than beginners.
• Google is a big part of software developers tool kits.
• Googling is important because it is hard to remember all of the minor details.

4. 20 Google Search Tips to Use Google More Efficiently by Joseph Hindy (15 min)

• Briefly describe (in your own words) each of the tips below AND provide an example of a search that captures the sentiment of the tip
• Tip 2: If you put quotes around the phrase you're searching then it will search for the phrase in the order that you typed it. "Sony Playstation Controller"
• Tip 3: If you put a hyphen before a word in your search it will exclude any results that include the hyphenated word. "Golf -cars"
• Tip 4: You can use a colon to search a specific site for your phrase. "Marvel Studios site:reddit.com"
• Tip 9: You can search for multiple phrases or keywords at the same time to find sites that include both phrases or one of the two keywords. "grass OR weeds"
• Tip 13: It is better to google using the words of the solution that youre looking for rather than the question that you have. "writing an iteration in Ruby"
• Tip 14: Only use important key words when googling instead of writing out the whole phrase or question. "Ruby iteration syntax"
• Tip 17: When googling, try to use the right descriptive words. If you dont find what youre looking for, try changing a few of the words. "iteration error in ruby"
