I, TwilightZebby, have made the decision to shut down my Crimson Levels Discord Bot. This will happen on the 10th July 2021.
For a number of reasons really - not all of which will be shared.
I will be starting my third and final year of my Uni degree course from this September onwards. This year will not only make up the main bulk of my final grade, but also I will have my dissertation to create/write up. Quite frankly, I will not be able to properly manage the workload of Uni and the Crimson Levels Bot. I do not want a repeat of April/May 2021 in which there was no development on the Bot due to me neglecting the Bot to focus on Uni work.
Additionally, even if the Bot continues operations and grows, I currently will not be able to verify the Bot (if it had hit 75+ Servers) since I don't actually have any valid forms of ID that Stripe accepts (I've never had a chance to go outside my home country, hence no passport). It wouldn't be nice to have the Bot's growth blocked by not being able to be in more than 100 Servers (since Bots need to be verified in order to be invited to more than 100 Servers).
I will be tweaking the outputs of some of the Bot's commands to add a notice that the Bot will be shutting down. This notice will be in the form of a hyperlink to the GitHub Gist which has a copy of this announcement. I will also make the Bot's Playing Status reflect this announcement too.
On the 10th July, I will be shutting down the Bot, and fully deleting it on 11th July. This means that it will be automatically removed from all Servers it is in on 11th July.
I will be moving most of the channels into a read-only "Archive" category. The only channels that will remain outside the Archive category will be the main #social channel, and the Announcement Channels. The Server will then be fully deleted on the 11th July, alongside the Crimson Levels (and Crimson Utility) Bots.
It is a shame that I've had to make this decision, I did have a huge 2.0 update planned which involved hugely customisable rank cards, level-up cards, Slash Commands, use of Discord's new Bot Buttons, a more dynamic help command instead of using "--flags", the ability to convert Mee6 XP to Crimson XP, and more.
I apologise for having to make this decision. :)
