# Configuring DNS-over-TLS on macOS
# Worked on macOS 10.13.4
brew -v update
brew -v doctor
# Next two commands are optional
sudo chown -R $(whoami) $(brew --prefix)/*
echo 'export PATH="/usr/local/sbin:$PATH"' >> ~/.bash_profile
# Install DNS client
brew install knot-resolver
# Should be installed to something like: /usr/local/Cellar/knot-resolver/2.3.0/sbin/kresd

Git rebase from remote fork repo

In your local clone of your forked repository, you can add the original GitHub repository as a "remote". ("Remotes" are like nicknames for the URLs of repositories - origin is one, for example.) Then you can fetch all the branches from that upstream repository, and rebase your work to continue working on the upstream version. In terms of commands that might look like:

Add the remote, call it "upstream":

git remote add upstream https://github.com/whoever/whatever.git

Fetch all the branches of that remote into remote-tracking branches, such as upstream/master:

git fetch upstream

class ArrayImpl<T> {
var space: Int
var count: Int
var ptr: UnsafeMutablePointer<T>
init(count: Int = 0, ptr: UnsafeMutablePointer<T> = nil) {
self.count = count
self.space = count

Big list of http static server one-liners

Each of these commands will run an ad hoc http static server in your current (or specified) directory, available at http://localhost:8000. Use this power wisely.

Discussion on reddit.

An example of elasticsearch & Tire setup for ActiveRecord associations
# An example of elasticsearch & Tire setup for ActiveRecord associations.
#
# A `Book has_many :chapters` scenario, with mapping and JSON serialization
# for indexing associated models.
#
# Demonstrates three important caveats as of now:
#
# 1. You you have to use `touch: true` in the `belongs_to` declaration,
# to automatically notify the parent model about the update.
