the mcp tools didn't seem to be enough - bash tools were called for more into i still prefer only mcp tools being called. - will need more work. i'll need to do some research to figure out why grep searchers are being preferred - there should be enough for the model to ignore using bash commands I'll attempt to limit ANY bash tools from being used and see where we get. 😊 Here is a search for "Fenwyn Fizzlebit" She is my girlfriend's first TTRPG character, and my first player as a new GM several years ago.

And to twist the knife, tieflings know that this is because a pact struck generations ago infused the essence of Asmodeus-overlord of the Nine Hells-into their bloodline. Their appearance and their nature are not their fault but the result of an ancient sin, for which they and their children and their children's children will always be held accountable.

Infernal Bloodline[–]

Tieflings are derived from human bloodlines, and in the broadest possible sense, they still look human. However, their infernal heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. Tieflings have large horns that take any of a variety of shapes - some have curling horns like a ram, others have straight and tall horns like a gazelle's, and some spiral upward like an antelopes' horns. They have thick tails, four to five feet long, which lash or coil around their legs when they get upset or nervous. Their canine teeth are sharply pointed, and their eyes are solid colors black, red, white, silver, or gold with no visible sclera or pupil. Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration, but also include various shades of red. Their hair, cascading down from behind their horns, is usually dark, from black or brown to dark red, blue, or purple.

Self-Reliant and Suspicious[–]

Tieflings subsist in small minorities found mostly in human cities or towns, often in the roughest quarters of those places, where they grow up to be swindlers, thieves or crime lords. Sometimes they live among other minority populations in enclaves where they are treated with more respect.

Lacking a homeland, tieflings know that they have to make their own way in the world and that they have to be strong to survive. They are not quick to trust anyone who claims to be a friend, but when a tiefling's companions demonstrate that they trust him or her, a tiefling learns to extend the same trust to them. And once a tiefling gives someone loyalty, the tiefling is a friend or ally for life.

Tiefling Names[–]

Tiefling names fall into three broad categories. Tieflings born into another culture typically have names reflective of that culture. Some have names derived from the infernal language passed down through generations, and reflect their fiendish heritage. And some younger tieflings striving to find a place in the world, adopt a name that signifies a virtue or other concept and then try to embody that concept. For some, the chosen name is a quest. The motives of the arcane brotherhood are not completely understood, but are generally understood as selfish and power hungry - it is not known how ranks operate in the arcane brotherhood or what kind of artifacts they have gathered. Although the arcane brotherhood has been historically evil, it is believed that spies have infiltrated the organization to use the ancient findings for good; rather than evil. By uncovering artifacts on ancient ground, the new arcane brotherhood - who identify to one another, more specifically, as the arcane fellowship. The fellowship want to exploit the evil of their enemies and turn their work into something that all of Dragon's Guard needs - Heroes.

The Arcane Fellowship

The only known member of the arcane fellowship is Ianmaer Crimsonshadow. Ianmaer works as the light beholder in Revels End. His magic keeps the torches in the prison lit. If there is any type of prison break, or dragon sighting, Ianmaer turns the ever-fire-burning torches in the prison into a crimson red color which allows the guards ample time to prepare for battle. He is the only arcane fellowship member that has been exposed as a member of the aracne fellowship. Some think that he leads the fellowship, but none are certain.

Underground trade routes for the fellowship

While unconfirmed, it has been rumored that the arcane fellowship have trade routes that extend under the land icewind-dale. These routes extend out to wildspace where docks are chiseled from the rock of icewind-dale and extend out into space as long horizontal pillars of shimmering beauty where boats dock to transport goods. Some believe that there is at least one passage through some of the villages of the ten towns. These trade routes are highly profitable for the arcane fellowship, and the gold helps to fund their cause.

The Arcane Fellowship Ruse

Not everyone believes that the Arcane Fellowship is simply the yin to an evil yang. Mysterious deaths have been associated with the fellowship which lead some to believe that human sacrifices have been played out by the fellowship to appease Auril; the frost maiden. The fellowship might be one of her arms in the fight to consume icewind-dale and, eventually, Dragon's Guard. 30:
31:
32: # Part 1:
33:
34: A gnome druid named Fenwyn Fizzlebit, adorned with vibrant purple hair and a small dagger gracefully hanging from her hip, approaches the quaint town of Gefny. To her left, a farm greets her gaze, while a library stands on the right. Slightly beyond these structures, a bakery and a tavern, facing a barracks-like building, complete the scene. At the town's entrance, an intriguing signpost crafted from petrified wood catches her attention, its golden writing an enigma she cannot decipher.
35:
36: Intrigued yet unsure, Fenwyn Fizzlebit steps into a welcoming establishment known as The Copper Flask. Within its walls, she observes a succulent roast pig on the left, a solitary table occupying the center of the tavern, and a dwarven bartender skillfully attending to a few patrons relishing their mead. Overcoming her initial shyness, Fenwyn Fizzlebit initiates a conversation with the amiable dwarven bartender known as Helmder. His long white hair, adorned with golden earrings, frames an aged yet kindly visage, instilling trust within her despite his raspy but gentle voice.
37:
38: Piqued by the mysterious sign outside, Fenwyn Fizzlebit inquires about its purpose. Helmder shares that the sign has stood there for as long as his memory serves, resembling those found in other realms. However, the true meaning behind these signs remains elusive to all. Helmder appreciates the historical allure of these enigmatic markers, drawing travelers to his tavern seeking answers.
39:
40: Choosing to set aside the sign's mystery for another time, Fenwyn Fizzlebit indulges her inquisitive nature by ordering an ale or mead to quell her obsessively curious spirit. As she places her order, Helmder begins to fetch the appropriately sized gnome mug. However, after a mere three seconds, Fenwyn Fizzlebit changes her mind, prompting Helmder's return to the bar.
41:
42: Captivated by the diverse group of patrons within the small village tavern, Fenwyn Fizzlebit expresses her curiosity about their journeys. Helmder, obliging her request, shares tidbits about Ziri and the captivating tale of the Ancient Curse of Ziri. The concept of being unable to love for longer than a year elicits deep contemplation within Fenwyn Fizzlebit. Ziri, a benevolent female dwarven merchant adorned with brown hair and eyes, remains blissfully unaware of Helmder's conversation, oblivious that he speaks of her. Helmder immediately appreciates Fenwyn Fizzlebit's kindness toward Ziri, a quality rarely encountered in others. In a village where Helmder often deals with rough individuals, witnessing Fenwyn Fizzlebit's compassion serves as a refreshing reminder of humanity's inherent goodness. Moreover, he recognizes her resilience and begins to believe she may be capable of aiding him with a long-standing challenge.
43:
44:
45:
46: Helmder, sharing his history with Fenwyn Fizzlebit, unveils a hidden hatch nestled at the rear of the tavern, leading to an enigmatic underground realm. Despite having spent his entire life in this town, Helmder, who inherited The Copper Flask from his father, has never found a compelling reason to explore the depths beneath the establishment. He reveals that the underground exudes a palpable aura of magic, a concept that instills fear in the hearts of many residents of Gefny. Given the presence of the nearby Old War Ruins of Gefny, it is conceivable that magic played a role in the town's demise half a millennium ago. Regardless, Helmder's intuition tells him that Fenwyn Fizzlebit, with her intriguing nature, may be the one to aid him. In a resonant voice that resonates throughout the tavern, he extends his proposal, ensuring all patrons are aware of the impending quest.
47:
48: Ziri, captivated by the challenge, expresses her eagerness to join forces. Moved by their enthusiasm, Helmder pledges a reward of gold and a magical artifact discreetly stashed beyond the town's borders upon the completion of their adventure. The item holds no value to Helmder personally, as his skepticism towards magic has led him to keep it at a distance from the village.
49:
50:
51:
52:
53: Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri willingly accept the challenge to investigate the mysteries lurking beneath the tavern. Helmder, their guide, leads the duo to a secluded back room where he typically brews mead. In this room, a hatch reveals an abyss illuminated solely by a descending ladder. Helmder takes a wooden piece from the room, wraps it in a rag used for cleaning the bar, and soaks it in leftover mead from Ziri's mug. Using the fire pit where a pig is roasting, he sets the rag ablaze, fashioning a torch that he then passes to Fenwyn Fizzlebit.
54:
55: As Fenwyn Fizzlebit prepares to descend the ladder, Helmder realizes there is one last item they require. Hastily, he rushes to the bar, pouring drinks for Ziri and Fenwyn Fizzlebit. Returning to them, he hands over the beverages. With a celebratory clink of their mugs, the gnome and dwarf drink the mead, albeit experiencing a temporary decrease in wisdom and intelligence but a surge in strength. Finally, they venture downward, leaving Helmder to witness their courageous questone he himself never mustered the bravery to undertake.
56:
57: The torch casts a flickering glow along the seemingly endless hallway where they find themselves. Surrounding darkness shrouds their path. Fenwyn Fizzlebit cautiously leads the way, with Ziri closely trailing behind. At a junction in the hallway, offering three directions, Fenwyn Fizzlebit pauses, listening intently. In the left corridor, a distant growl can be discerned, while a faint light emanates from the right. Undeterred, Fenwyn Fizzlebit chooses to press forward. After approximately fifty meters, Fenwyn Fizzlebit halts at the hallway's end, observing an open arch on the right wall, revealing a mysterious room beyond. Puzzled, Ziri asks, "What are we doing?" Realizing Ziri may not have heard the unsettling growl or noticed the faint light, Fenwyn Fizzlebit begins to explain. In a sudden impulsive act, Ziri snatches the torch from Fenwyn Fizzlebit's grasp and hastily retreats down the hallway, leaving Fenwyn Fizzlebit bewildered and desperately calling out, "Stop!" Ignoring the pleas, Ziri exhibits an unwavering sense of duty, veering towards the source of the growl at the junction. Confused but determined, Fenwyn Fizzlebit pursues, cautiously navigating the darkness.
58:
59: Ziri comes to an abrupt halt at the end of the hallway, where a stone statue of a half-ogre looms before her. Fenwyn Fizzlebit catches up within moments, positioning herself at Ziri's side. The stone facade of the Half-Ogre Statue of Gefney begins to crack, gradually revealing a layer of half-ogre skin just beneath the surface.
60:
61: The visage of the Half-Ogre Stone Statue of Gefney is unveiled, and with a furious roar, it breaks free from its stony confines. Catching the gaze of Helmder, the statue launches into a wild assault. Reacting swiftly, Fenwyn Fizzlebit leaps to shield her newfound comrade. Her dagger finds its mark, slicing into the Half-Ogre's arm and revealing the muscular sinew beneath the surface. The Half-Ogre howls in pain, while Ziri swiftly positions herself, brandishing a short sword aimed at the creature's chest. However, her strike lands a bit too high, grazing the Half-Ogre's neck instead. Seizing the opportunity, the Half-Ogre swings his battleaxe at Fenwyn Fizzlebit, slicing through her armor and leaving her upper legs bleeding. Yet, driven by adrenaline, Fenwyn Fizzlebit persists.
62:
63: With his left hand, the Half-Ogre retaliates, delivering a heavy blow to Ziri's left shoulder as blood spurts from the wound. Fenwyn Fizzlebit slides beneath the Half-Ogre, deftly slicing into both of his heels, causing him to stumble backward. Struggling to regain balance, the top-heavy Half-Ogre overcorrects, toppling forward. He gurgles briefly before succumbing to death.
64:
65: Taking a moment to catch their breath, Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri decide to search the fallen adversary. Among the spoils, Fenwyn Fizzlebit discovers fifty-five gold pieces on the Half-Ogre, evoking conflicting emotions about keeping the riches obtained from a vanquished foe. She suggests giving the money to Helmder, considering the connection between this underground realm and his tavern. Perhaps he deserves the treasures associated with his establishment. However, Ziri disagrees, persuading Fenwyn Fizzlebit that shedding blood and facing such peril grants them the right to claim additional rewards in their conquest. After all, Helmder would likely never dare to confront the terror they just encountered. Reluctantly, Fenwyn Fizzlebit agrees, contemplating the notion of honoring Helmder by sharing some of the spoils.
66:
67: Continuing down the hallway, Fenwyn Fizzlebit decides to follow the path leading toward the faint light, with Ziri carrying the torch. After traversing around twenty more meters in near darkness, they come across four iron jail cells. Two cells contain only skulls, while all of them possess chains, serving as additional security measures. The faint light they had noticed emanates from a small candle inside one of the cells. Approaching the cell with the flickering candle, Fenwyn Fizzlebit locks eyes with the flame, which abruptly extinguishes. Determined, she retrieves her dagger and attempts to open the cell door. Though the lock appears uncomplicated, Fenwyn Fizzlebit's lack of expertise in lock picking becomes evident as her attempt proves unsuccessful. This particular lock would be relatively easy for a novice lock picker, but Fenwyn Fizzlebit lacks the necessary skills.
68:
69: The duo departs from the jail area and proceeds towards the remaining unexplored section. Entering the room with the archway, they observe two partially opened sarcophagi at the far end, one on the back left wall and the other on the back right wall. A striking three-foot-wide polished stone pillar stands in the room's center, with wooden spiral stairs positioned directly behind it, winding upward. Fenwyn Fizzlebit cautiously steps closer to the crypt room and discovers a hatch at the top of the spiral staircase. Proceeding with care, she also notices an eight-foot-tall Demon Statue of Obsidian positioned between the two sarcophagi. The statue's black surface glistens with an unusual sheen, resembling glass or obsidian.
70:
71: Sensing that they've had enough excitement for now, Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri decide not to approach either the sarcophagi or the demon statue. Instead, they ascend the spiral staircase. As they make their way upward, a faint light filters through the hatch at the staircase's pinnacle. Both adventurers diligently brush away cobwebs, using Fenwyn Fizzlebit's dagger and Ziri's torch, in their ascent toward the hatch on the ceiling. Reaching the top of the stairs, Fenwyn Fizzlebit opens the hatch to reveal a room with a wall on their left and a study desk on their right. The windowless room is shrouded in cobwebs and dust, while a double door made of deep red and brown wood is situated at a thirty-degree angle from the hatch's exit point. On the far right side of the room, a desk rests against the back wall, adorned with a few leather-bound books. The source of the light seen earlier beneath the double doors in the crypt emanates from this study.
72:
73: Approaching the door, Fenwyn Fizzlebit exerts her strength to pull a hefty latch aside with all her might. With the latch disengaged, she pushes against the double doors, hoping to escape the eerie ambiance of cobwebs and dust pervading the study. However, her initial effort yields no result, leaving Fenwyn Fizzlebit slightly embarrassed. Undeterred, she attempts to open the doors again, this time employing a robust backward yank. The doors swing open, flooding the study with light. Walls lined with books come into view as Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri's eyes adjust to the illumination filtering through numerous windows in the small library. Surprisingly, the library boasts around ten windows, an impressive number given its compact size. The ambiance of the library surpasses the available shelf space for reading material.
74:
75: Deciding to take a moment to relax, Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri conclude that they should seize the opportunity to grab a couple of chairs. With no one else present in the library, they can momentarily unwind. They have just vanquished a creature ensnared within a magical spell and survived the perils of unknown artifacts that likely haven't been seen by eyes for generations. Curiosity lingers about the nature of the demon statue and the reasons why no one has managed to reach the study of the library. These questions occupy the adventurers' thoughts, aware that Helmder awaits their return. Nonetheless, they acknowledge that Helmder will understand their need for a pause to reflect on their extraordinary experiences, as encounters of such magnitude are rare and many would go a lifetime without witnessing them.
76:
77:
78:
79: # Part 2:
80:
81: In the serene ambiance of the Library of Gefny, Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri find themselves immersed in deep conversation. Ziri confides in Fenwyn Fizzlebit, sharing a secret: Helmder is her father. However, Ziri is reluctant for Helmder to discover her true identity as his daughter. Fenwyn Fizzlebit, taken aback, recalls a conversation earlier that day where Helmder mentioned that his "daughter runs the farm and the bakery." While Ziri was present during the conversation, it appears she missed this particular detail. The revelation perplexes Fenwyn Fizzlebit, pondering the peculiarity of the situation.
82:
83: The Ancient Curse of Ziri looms over her lineage, intertwining with Helmder's connection to her bloodline. Wondering if the curse prohibits all forms of love, not just romantic love, Fenwyn Fizzlebit realizes the consequences. If unable to maintain love for friends or family for more than a year, she would be forced into a nomadic existence, never finding a place to truly call home, lest she becomes a threat to those she grows close to.
84:
85: Ziri explains how she came across the library when she first arrived in town thirty-three tendays ago. Despite her limited intellect, Ziri managed to gather fragments of information about the lineage of the Coinbusters. Coinbuster being her family name, Ziri reveals that Helmder, too, belongs to the Coinbuster lineage. Intrigued, Fenwyn Fizzlebit inquires about Ziri's duration in town, to which Ziri discloses that it has been exactly thirty-three tendays, equivalent to eleven months.
86:
87: The complexity of love and its nuances briefly occupies Fenwyn Fizzlebit's thoughts. Ziri shares her suspicion that Gyliam, the proprietor of the library, may be responsible for the curse, considering his role in the Coinbuster lineage. Uncertain about Gyliam's character during her time in town, Ziri recalls Helmder mentioning him previously. Gyliam resides twenty-four miles away, atop the winding eastern mountain of Gefny. Desperate for Fenwyn Fizzlebit's assistance, Ziri implores her to join in uncovering the truth behind the library owner's involvement, if any, in their family curse.
88:
89: Fenwyn Fizzlebit assures Ziri that she will return shortly and hurriedly ventures outside to gather herbs from the surrounding village. Meticulously, she blends the herbs together with her hands, utilizing her basic knowledge of medicine to treat the wound. Although the treatment doesn't provide complete healing, it should aid in a faster recovery when accompanied by a good night's rest.
90:
91: Inside the bar, one of the patrons has left, while Gili, the traveling merchant, remains seated at a table, enjoying his dinner. Spotting Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri, Helmder rushes toward them. He embraces Ziri first, his hug so tight that Fenwyn Fizzlebit can sense the sorrow between the two dwarves, their unspoken pain about the curse that prevents them from being together beyond thirty-six and a half tendays. The knowledge that their shared fate is either eternal separation or a doomed encounter with the curse's fury weighs heavily on both of them. Helmder realizes he might be overwhelming Ziri and attempts to equally distribute his affection to Fenwyn Fizzlebit, concealing his joy at finding his daughter safe and alive. Fenwyn Fizzlebit is engulfed in a powerful hug, momentarily lifted off the ground, feeling the strength and warmth of Helmder's embrace. Helmder is content that his love for Ziri isn't glaringly evident. Deep down, he hopes that he doesn't truly love her, allowing them more time together before the ominous thirty-six and a half tendays elapse. However, Helmder's hope is misguided, far from the harsh reality of their situation.
92:
93: They engage in a discussion about the intricacies of the small dungeon beneath The Copper Flask, including the mysterious Demon Statue of Obsidian. Helmder expresses gratitude for their efforts in thwarting the Half-Ogre Stone Statue of Gefney and safeguarding the tavern from this malevolent magic. The mere thought of it all instills a sense of fear in Helmder, keeping him away from venturing into The Small Dungeon Under The Copper Flask for most of his life. He swiftly retrieves the gold he had saved for an occasion like this and hands it over to Fenwyn Fizzlebit. There is something about Fenwyn Fizzlebit that inspires Helmder's trust, particularly when it comes to entrusting her with Ziri for the confrontation with this legendary magic lurking beneath The Copper Flask. Fenwyn Fizzlebit is uncertain as to why Helmder chose to trust her, but she is grateful that he did. No mention is made of their familial ties or the intricate curse, creating an air of awkwardness in the room. Fenwyn Fizzlebit is eager to assist Ziri in investigating Gyliam, the reclusive wizard residing in the mountains, but they both need time to fully recover from their wounds, and the afternoon is gradually slipping away.
94:
95: As a token of appreciation, Helmder rewards Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri with fifty-one gold pieces. He explains that the magical item he intends to bestow upon Fenwyn Fizzlebit will require some time to retrieve. Fenwyn Fizzlebit has no objections to collecting the magic item from Helmder at a later time, as she and Ziri are in need of sustenance and rest. Fenwyn Fizzlebit places a food order, but Helmder insists on treating them both to the meal. Delighted, Helmder provides them with an exquisite feast to acknowledge their extraordinary bravery in aiding him. They dine and exchange a brief conversation with Gili, the traveling merchant, before departing. Gili offers Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri one of his remaining four health potions for purchase. Fenwyn Fizzlebit inquires about the road leading east and the cost of securing passage in Gili's carriage. Gili reveals his rates, and Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri mutually agree to depart with Gili in the morning to investigate the library's owner, known as Gyliam.
96:
97: Just across the road from The Copper Flask stands a barracks-like building where Ziri has been residing with Helmder for the past thirty-three days. Ziri has become a long-time resident of the town, employed by Helmder to work on the farm and in the bakery. While Helmder also sleeps in the barracks, his arduous hours at the bar mean he will retire to his cot long after Ziri and Fenwyn Fizzlebit. The two of them enter the barracks, and it is Fenwyn Fizzlebit's first time taking in the surroundings. The room is a simple space with seven cots, a chamber pot on the left, and a small chest where one can store personal items while indulging in drinks at The Copper Flask. It may not be the accommodation of the affluent, but it suffices for their healing and unraveling the mysteries of this small hamlet, a place where weary travelers passing through the mountains of the east and west find respite and drown their sorrows. Fenwyn Fizzlebit chooses the cot furthest away from the others and places her belongings at its head as a makeshift pillow. She maintains a cautious demeanor towards the few remaining residents of the town, knowing better than to allow herself to be robbed after earning her modest bounty. Ziri, on the other hand, trusts Fenwyn Fizzlebit completely with the gold and intends to forfeit her share since Fenwyn Fizzlebit will be assisting her the next day. Gold holds little value for Ziri, and the exciting prospect of lifting the Ancient Curse of Ziri from the Coinbusters keeps her from falling asleep immediately. In contrast, Fenwyn Fizzlebit quickly drifts into a deep slumber, barely stirring as a couple of friendly shadows settle into their cots for the night. One of those shadows, short and broad, undoubtedly belongs to Helmder. He was the last one to retire to his cot. Fenwyn Fizzlebit slips back into a state of peaceful sleep, despite feeling a bit sore from the battle.
98:
99: The next morning, Ziri and Fenwyn Fizzlebit awaken to find the barracks empty, except for themselves. The previous day's fight has allowed them a slightly extended sleep cycle. They prepare for the day, head over to The Copper Flask, and approach Gili the Traveling Merchant to express their desire to journey up the mountain and converse with Gyliam. Gili assures Fenwyn Fizzlebit that he is ready whenever they are, but she is not quite ready to leave so hastily. She wishes to have breakfast, even though it is already nearing midday, and proceeds to order food from Helmder. Fenwyn Fizzlebit eats quickly, eager to embark on their adventure. She also expresses the desire to visit the library before their departure. Ziri and Fenwyn Fizzlebit return to the library, where an obsidian daemon statue lies hidden beneath. Fenwyn Fizzlebit's gaze is drawn to the back room, covered in layers of dust and cobwebs. Two ominous-looking black books catch her attention, giving off an aura of dark magic. Approaching the desk where they are stacked, she places her hands on the top book and opens it slowly. A chilling breeze sweeps through the library, and she wonders whether the icy presence is mere coincidence or holds significance. To her surprise, the pages of the book are completely blank. Sliding the top book aside, she hastily opens the second one, only to find it filled with equally empty pages. There is no ink or evidence of prior use, although the worn covers suggest these books have been read or handled for generations. Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri discuss the enigmatic nature of the books and both agree to hold onto them for the time being.
100:
101: Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri make their way back to The Copper Flask. Just before reaching the entrance, Fenwyn Fizzlebit assures Ziri that she will return shortly and quickly rushes back to the library. Inside, Fenwyn Fizzlebit finds refuge behind a bookshelf and swiftly performs a casting of DruidCraft, a spell that grants her the ability to predict the weather. A small cloud, no larger than the palm of her hand, materializes about five inches above her, and a solitary snowflake descends from it, vanishing upon contact with her skin. Consulting the signs revealed by the DruidCraft weather spell, Fenwyn Fizzlebit knows that a light snowfall is imminent, though the exact timing remains uncertain. With this knowledge in mind, she leaves the library and returns to the bar, where she spots Ziri nearing the entrance. Considering the recent encounters with magic and the profound nature of the Ancient Curse of Ziri, Fenwyn Fizzlebit decides against startling anyone with further displays of magic. After all, Ziri's experiences must have been quite traumatic. As Ziri approaches the door to The Copper Flask, their eyes meet, and Ziri gives Fenwyn Fizzlebit an inquisitive look. However, no questions are asked about Fenwyn Fizzlebit's sudden visit to the library.
102:
103: Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri peer into The Copper Flask, signaling to Gili the Traveling Merchant that they are ready to embark on their journey up the mountain. Gili emerges from the tavern and prepares the carriage, hitching Azag the Donkey to it. As Azag begins pulling the open carriage, Fenwyn Fizzlebit, Ziri, and Gili the Traveling Merchant set off towards the east, leaving The Copper Flask behind. The carriage's wheels traverse the open grass for nearly a quarter of a mile before Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri glance back, taking in the picturesque expanse of grassy plains and flowers as The Copper Flask recedes into the distance.
104:
105: They arrive at the base of the eastern mountain, where the view is cloaked by dense stands of large trees, revealing a packed dirt road. Gili the Traveling Merchant casts a warm smile at Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri, sensing their lingering lack of trust. Deep down, Gili is a good-hearted person who would willingly assist them without charge if he didn't have three young children eagerly awaiting his return home with a sack of potatoes that would sustain them for the next few tendays. Gili's children are his world, and he hopes to safely reach home with enough silver to provide them with more than just a simple potato supply. Saving up for a blacksmith's anvil, Gili dreams of a more settled life, where he can be a father figure close by, teaching his children the tools and trade of a profession other than that of a merchant. The transient existence of a traveling merchant is as precarious as being a bandit, minus the violence.
106:
107: After a few hours of travel, the sun sits just past its midday peak as Gili the Traveling Merchant gradually slows the carriage, eventually bringing it to a stop. The road ahead is mired in thick mud, impeding the progress of Azag the Donkey. With the wheels of the carriage already in less-than-ideal condition, the last thing the group needs is a broken wheel or an immobilized carriage, especially considering the falling snow. The sky is veiled by a blanket of clouds, blocking the sun's rays. As the chill settles in, Gili informs Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri that they won't be able to proceed further. Instead, Gili suggests finding a spot within the nearby woods to wait it out, assuring them that he is well-equipped for several days. However, he mentions needing a portion of the travel payment for the distance covered thus far.
108:
109: Without hesitation, Fenwyn Fizzlebit retrieves her bag of gold, settling the necessary funds with Gili. Meanwhile, Ziri approaches Azag the Donkey, expressing gratitude for their safe journey so far and affectionately patting him. Fenwyn Fizzlebit joins Ziri and engages in a conversation with Azag, inquiring whether he has ever traveled along this particular road. Azag responds kindly, explaining that while he and Gili have been at the base of the mountain and the foot of the trail, they have never ventured in this direction before.
110:
111: Fenwyn Fizzlebit expresses gratitude to Gili the Traveling Merchant as they proceed up the trail. Gili veers into the dense woods to start a fire and wait for their return. Not venturing too far, Ziri and Fenwyn Fizzlebit round a bend and come across a dwelling encircled by cliffs. The only approach is from the road, leaving them vulnerable to detection by anyone inside. The road terminates at two windows of the home, with the building curving around the road in an "L" shape to their right. Feeling exposed, Fenwyn Fizzlebit raises herself to peek through one of the windows, while Ziri examines the double doors on the right side of the road. The doors bear a striking resemblance to the mahogany doors adorned with etched patterns in the library. Cautiously descending from the first window, Fenwyn Fizzlebit switches to peer through the second one.
112:
113: Meanwhile, Ziri's anger intensifies as she becomes fixated on the etchings of the double doors. Memories resurface of a day in the past when she tried to open the back doors of the library, futilely ramming her shoulder against them. The similarity between the doors before her and those haunting memories ignites a sinister and malevolent significance for Ziri. Just as Fenwyn Fizzlebit descends from the second window and is about to suggest that no one is home, Ziri pulls her right leg close to her chest, emits a roar, and forcefully kicks between the two door handles. To their surprise, the door offers little resistance, splintering wood flying in all directions as the doors swing open inward.
114:
115: Fenwyn Fizzlebit feels a tinge of embarrassment, realizing their attempt to solve the mystery in a civilized manner was futile. Ziri storms into the structure, with Fenwyn Fizzlebit hastily following behind. They find themselves in a peculiar layout where the double doors lead directly into a well-appointed bedroom. The room boasts a large, luxurious bed adorned with silk linens and plush pillows. The intricate woodwork within the bedroom exudes extravagance, and an oil painting on the wall reveals Gyliam's appreciation for the finer things in life. Fenwyn Fizzlebit checks the kitchen, which pales in comparison to the bedroom. It becomes evident that Gyliam's culinary skills are lacking, as the kitchen supplies indicate a diet primarily consisting of rice and potatoes. Essentially, a modest kitchen is connected to a seductive bedroom. Although the bedroom is well-lit with windows on the backside, the surrounding mountains limit the outside view, offering little to observe from within.
116:
117: Ziri and Fenwyn Fizzlebit approach another door within the bedroom. Opening it, they cautiously peek inside to find a study, complete with a desk and parchment resting atop it. Fenwyn Fizzlebit silently reads the contents of the parchment, realizing that it is a spell. It details a spell involving intoxicated dwarves, the Coinbuster lineage, and harbors a malicious nature with promises of love that last only for thirty-six and a half tendays. Curiously, the final section of the spell mentions a "still black demon" as its possessor. Rolling up the parchment, Fenwyn Fizzlebit informs Ziri that they need to return to Gefny.
118:

121: # Part 3:
122:
123: Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri discreetly conceal the parchment they found on Gyliam's desk and swiftly descend the mountain along the road that leads back to Gili the Traveling Merchant and Azag the Donkey. Pausing for a moment, Fenwyn Fizzlebit retrieves both the parchment and the two enigmatic books they discovered in the library, which lacked any discernible text but hinted at potential significance. Opening one of the books, she attempts to place the parchment inside. To her surprise, one of the Black Books of Gyliamthe very book currently open in her handsstarts flickering with unfamiliar text. The ink dances faster as the wind intensifies, with the ink appearing and disappearing in sync with the parchment's proximity. However, after a few seconds, the wind gradually subsides, and the ink ceases its enigmatic display. The mountain, once alive with the chatter of birds, falls eerily silent. Fenwyn Fizzlebit calls out to Gili the Traveling Merchant as they approach the spot where they left him.
124:
125: Both Ziri and Fenwyn Fizzlebit catch a whiff of the fire Gili the Traveling Merchant had been tending, leading them into the woods in its direction. Ahead, they discover a clearing where Gili the Traveling Merchant is cooking dried meat from his provisions, meant for longer journeys into the unknown. Observing the urgency etched on their faces, he swiftly finishes his snack and prepares the carriage for departure. Azag the Donkey, overjoyed to see Ziri and Fenwyn Fizzlebit, expresses his delight, conveying to Fenwyn Fizzlebit that he missed her. She reciprocates the sentiment, and a smile illuminates Azag the Donkey's face.
126:
127: Descending the mountain at a steady pace, careful not to strain Azag the Donkey, a mishap occurs. Azag the Donkey slips on an icy patch of road, inadvertently stepping on a rock with a slight jolt. Startled, he lets out a cry, not so much from pain, but from surprise. The rock manages to cut his leg, causing a stinging sensation. Concerned, Fenwyn Fizzlebit quickly alights from the carriage to attend to Azag the Donkey. However, as she approaches, she stumbles upon the very same rock, losing her balance and tumbling toward the steep decline that descends the mountain. Tumbling and somersaulting, Fenwyn Fizzlebit's descent is cushioned by the foliage, preventing any significant physical harm. Coming to a stop in a flat clearing, she finds herself momentarily disoriented before a low growl reaches her earsa white wolf lurking nearby.
128:
129: Fenwyn Fizzlebit swiftly rises to her feet, her movements as swift as an arrow, as she weaves a spell that summons a dense, dark cloud to obscure the wolf's vision. Bolting in the opposite direction, the wolf gives chase, but just as the cloud thickens, Fenwyn Fizzlebit swiftly changes direction, hoping to evade the wolf's scent. Her assessment proves accurate, as the wolf persists in its singular pursuit, unaware of Fenwyn Fizzlebit's escape. Emerging from the shrouding cloud, Fenwyn Fizzlebit peers into the clearing, where the wolf should have emerged, only to discover a den filled with whimpering pups. To ensure the mother wolf remains oblivious to her presence, Fenwyn Fizzlebit casts a minor illusion, luring the wolf into the den with the illusion of rotting flesh. Free to slip away silently, Fenwyn Fizzlebit retraces her steps up the mountain and spots Ziri running downhill. In a loud whisper, she urges Ziri to turn back, warning her of the lurking wolf. Ziri freezes in her tracks as Fenwyn Fizzlebit catches up to her. Fenwyn Fizzlebit continues her ascent while Ziri reverses her course to join her. However, as Ziri takes a step backward, she unknowingly steps on a twig, causing it to snap loudly, its sound reverberating through the vast mountains. Momentarily frozen, Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri lock eyes, but to their relief, nothing stirs. They cautiously resume their climb, making their way back to Gili the Traveling Merchant and Azag the Donkey. Upon reaching the summit, they find Azag with a bandage wrapped around his leg, appearing well enough to complete the journey. Gathering inside the carriage once more, the group begins their descent down the mountain.
130:
131: As they descend the mountain, the towering trees obstruct their view, leaving them unable to spot Gefny until they reach the nearby clearing. A scene of horror unfolds before them as a raging magical blue fire engulfs the library, its flames dancing violently in the wind. The northerly gusts keep the fire at bay, preventing it from spreading to the tavern and other structures in the hamlet. With the snowfall intensifying, the blue flames create a strangely captivating sight against the backdrop of the partially clear sunset, if only their destructive fury didn't mar their beauty.
132:
133: Fenwyn Fizzlebit glances back, intending to convey the urgency of reaching Helmder to Ziri. However, to her surprise, Ziri is nowhere in sight. Turning her gaze back towards the flames, Fenwyn Fizzlebit realizes that Ziri had quietly passed her from behind while she was turning around. Sensing the need to warn Gili the Traveling Merchant and Azag the Donkey, Fenwyn Fizzlebit quickly instructs them to stay put as she and Ziri hasten towards the source of danger to check on Helmder's well-being.
134:
135: Directing their course toward The Copper Flask, they deliberately keep their distance from the library. As Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri sprint past the inn and cross the road towards the tavern, their attention is drawn to Gyliam, who appears to be eagerly awaiting their arrival. Positioned in the middle of the road just outside the library, Gyliam stands amidst the indigo inferno, where flickering tendrils of burning darkness reach skyward. A chilling sensation akin to the depths of the ocean washes over Helmder's guardians with each gust of wind.
136:
137: Fenwyn Fizzlebit cautiously enters the bar and spots a patron who had likely been hesitant to confront a powerful wizard. Encouraging the patron to join the fight, Fenwyn Fizzlebit convinces them, albeit reluctantly. Turning her attention back to the road, she sees Ziri already halfway to Gyliam, brandishing her short sword. Just as Ziri approaches, Gyliam completes a spell, enveloping himself in a protective layer of magic, rendering him invincible. Ziri's blade connects with Gyliam's skin, but it feels as if striking an impenetrable iron mountain. Fenwyn Fizzlebit's magical darts, too, bounce off Gyliam's neck, exhibiting the same resistant force. Even the patron's swing with their short sword proves fruitless against Gyliam's defense. Realizing the gravity of their situation, the three of them instinctively retreat, sensing the impending threat of death.
138:
139: Gyliam gazes upon these feeble adventurers and chuckles, wearing a smug grin that arises from mocking their feeble attempts at justice. He finds the prospect of killing them rather dull, and instead, an idea surfacesperhaps it would be more entertaining to let them live, toying with them as a cat would with its prey. This thought amuses Gyliam, and he begins to open a portal behind him. As the portal materializes, a deluge of snow and ice bricks surge forth, inundating the road in Gefny with an overwhelming amount of icy mass. Mighty gusts of wind howl, surpassing the energy of the blazing blue fire devouring the library. The air turns bone-chillingly cold, thick with the ice from the portal, causing the library to crumble almost instantaneously, seemingly bowing before the overwhelming dominance.
140:
141: Through the portal, Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri catch a glimpse of a castle atop an ice mountain, its path narrow with chasms on either side, shrouded in clouds. Gyliam's expression grows serious as he steps into the portal, venturing onto the icy path toward the castle. Satisfied with his destructive power, he begins to close the portal, leaving unscathed. Fenwyn Fizzlebit wears a smug grin once more, observing Gyliam as he ascends the icy passage toward the castle, while the portal seals shut. The snowfall abruptly ceases as the portal disappears completely.
142:
143: Fenwyn Fizzlebit rushes into The Copper Flask, followed closely by Ziri. Their desperate search for Helmder leads them through the establishment, hoping to find any sign of his survival. Making their way to the back of the tavern, they seize a torch from the wall and open the hatch that leads to the stone-laden corridor beneath.
144:
145: Suddenly, a thunderous crash reverberates through the dungeon, akin to the simultaneous shattering of countless mugs hitting the floor. Accompanying the noise is a deep, chilling screechan amalgamation of wraith's scream and a bear's growl. At the far end of the corridor, a beam of light illuminates the space, revealing the presence of an ice demon emerging from the crypt. The creature hurtles towards Fenwyn Fizzlebit, Ziri, and the bar patron, its icy form blazing with an otherworldly brilliance.
146:
147: Swiftly traversing the halls, the Ice Demon of Gefny streaks past them, heading towards the direction of the jail cells. Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Ziri press forward, passing a junction, their gaze fixated on the right where the jail resides.
148:
149: They witness no trace of the feared demon, but the sight of twisted iron and scattered chunks of ice near the jail entrance confirms the havoc it wreaked. Instead of venturing towards the jail, they direct their steps to the crypt, where they discover Helmdervisibly shaken but thankfully unharmed. Standing there, his back turned to his friends, Helmder clutches a club, frozen both literally and metaphorically. Upon realizing their presence, he slowly turns his head, expecting the worst. Overwhelmed with relief, he embraces Ziri tightly, his love for his daughter palpable. As Fenwyn Fizzlebit and the bar patron bear witness, ghostly ice shackles that had bound Helmder and Ziri for generations shatter and fall away, breaking the ancient family curse that had haunted them. Bewildered, the bar patron asks Fenwyn Fizzlebit, "What just happened?" Seizing the opportunity for mischief, Fenwyn Fizzlebit responds with a mischievous chuckle, "I have no idea," relishing in her own deception.
150:
151: Fenwyn Fizzlebit gathers everyone in the crypt, urging them to investigate the whereabouts of the demon and ensure all is well. As they approach the jail cell, they discover an unlit candle, which suddenly ignites into a flame. The candle flickers as if acknowledging the demon's departure. To their astonishment, lying unconscious in the midst of the shattered cell, they find a silver-scaled dragonborn. Bewildered, they struggle to comprehend the sudden appearance of this enigmatic figure. The departure of the ice demon from their realm leaves them with unanswered questions, leaving them to ponder the identity and purpose of the mysterious dragonborn.
152:
153:
154:
155: # Part 4:
156:
157: Fenwyn Fizzlebit carefully surveys the jail cell, her gaze fixed on the dragonborn lying before her. She nudges him gently, prompting him to stir from his unconscious state. As Shurrheath Narvarax, a dragonborn with pale white scales and a shared history with Fenwyn Fizzlebit, regains awareness, their eyes meet. Sitting up, Shurrheath Narvarax embraces Fenwyn Fizzlebit, and in that moment, she realizes that this is her long-lost childhood friend she had been searching for all these years. Overwhelmed with emotion, she returns the heartfelt hug. However, Fenwyn Fizzlebit is perplexed by the stark change in Shurrheath Narvarax's appearance. Once a red-scaled, fire-breathing dragonborn, he now stands before her with an entirely different complexion.
158:
159: "What has transpired to bring about this change?" Fenwyn Fizzlebit wonders aloud, her confusion palpable. Shurrheath Narvarax proceeds to recount his enthralling experiences in Frostfell, an icy realm where he served as a lieutenant aboard the Wings of Dread, a formidable vessel affiliated with the Frost Raider Mercenaries he had forged a deep bond with. He regales her with tales of an ice wizard who had abducted him, callously casting him into a frigid abyss. However, fortune smiled upon Shurrheath Narvarax, as the Frost Raider Mercenaries came to his rescue, enabling him to join their daring naval expeditions against colossal creatures on the perilous Isle of Dread, all in pursuit of nourishment and priceless treasures. Shurrheath is now certain that his time spent in Frostfell occurred a century ago, and he has finally returned to his rightful timeline.
160:
161: Fenwyn Fizzlebit is captivated by his indomitable spirit and ability to survive such harrowing ordeals. She shares with him her arduous quest to locate him, recounting her encounters and the guidance of her mentor, Vathis the Raven Druid, during her journeys to the enigmatic ruins of Castle Ravenloft. Filled with anticipation, she eagerly yearns to reunite Shurrheath Narvarax with his longing family, well aware of the anguish they have endured in his absence. With Ziri, Fenwyn Fizzlebit, Undin, and Shurrheath Narvarax commencing their ascent from the depths of the dungeon, they rendezvous with Helmder at the tavern. Seated together, they engage in a convivial exchange of stories, the passage of time seemingly erased in the presence of these steadfast companions. Ziri, Helmder, and Undin listen intently as Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Shurrheath Narvarax reconnect and catch up with one another.
162:
163: After Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Shurrheath Narvarax indulge in a few drinks, their smiles radiant with the joy of being reunited, Helmder seizes the opportune moment to present Fenwyn Fizzlebit with a wondrous Bag of Holding. This magical artifact grants her the extraordinary capacity to carry an abundance of items and weighty equipment. Although the Bag of Holding appears as a diminutive coin purse, its interior defies its size, expanding through enchantment to accommodate objects of substantial proportions. Such is its enchantment that Fenwyn Fizzlebit could even venture inside the bag herself, a testament to its remarkable capabilities.
164:
165: Fenwyn Fizzlebit expresses her heartfelt gratitude to Helmder for the gift, but he humbly insists that there is no need for thanks. He acknowledges that were it not for her, he would still be ensnared in the curse that plagued his bloodline. Both Ziri and Helmder are eternally grateful for Fenwyn Fizzlebit's intervention. Helmder hopes that the magical bag will aid her and her friend, Shurrheath Narvarax, in their journey back to their hometown.
166:
167: As realization dawns upon Fenwyn Fizzlebit, she remembers that Gili the Traveling Merchant and Azag the Donkey are still waiting on the outskirts of town. She suggests informing them that it is now safe to return. The group walks together toward the town's edge, and upon reaching Gili the Traveling Merchant, they are relieved to find him unharmed. Shurrheath Narvarax inquires if Gili the Traveling Merchant knows the way to the City of the Manticore. Gili affirms his knowledge of a road that leads there, though he explains that he resides too far south to accompany them on the journey. Helmder insists that a night's rest for the dragonborn and the gnome would be prudent before embarking on their search for home. They all make their way to an inn in Gefny and retire for the night.
168:
169: The following morning, Gili the Traveling Merchant prepares a map that should guide Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Shurrheath Narvarax to a northbound road, which is believed to be the safest route to the City of the Manticore. While it is not the sole path leading to their destination, Gili is confident in its security. Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Shurrheath Narvarax express their gratitude to Gili the Traveling Merchant. Helmder and Ziri once again thank Fenwyn Fizzlebit for her remarkable bravery. With gratitude exchanged, Shurrheath Narvarax and Fenwyn Fizzlebit set off on their journey northward. Gefny gradually recedes into the distance as they venture forth, flanked by towering mountains on the east and west. They consult Gili the Traveling Merchant's map, their eyes filled with anticipation as they seek a home they have not laid eyes upon in countless tendays.
170:
171: Two days of travel have passed, and Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Shurrheath Narvarax have discovered the northbound road to the City of the Manticore. The verdant trees envelop them as they continue their journey. The paved road leads them alongside a river that stretches from east to west, and as they draw nearer, two sights capture their attention. On the east side of the road, they spot a grave, while a bridge lies ahead. Shurrheath Narvarax proceeds towards the bridge, while Fenwyn Fizzlebit investigates the grave.
172:
173: As Shurrheath Narvarax reaches the bridge, he notices an old rowboat, a partially constructed cabin, an outhouse, and tables holding tools and supplies. Cautiously, he examines the weathered rowboat. Meanwhile, Fenwyn Fizzlebit crosses the bridge and joins him. Together, they decide to lift the rowboat. Unbeknownst to them, two dwarves emerge from a nearby mine, having witnessed the dragonborn's intrusion. Shurrheath Narvarax readies his sword and raises his shield, causing the mining dwarves to freeze. One of them, a male carpenter named Darvok Warhelm, along with his female counterpart, a blacksmith named Torga Warhelm, assesses the situation. Their attire and tool belts reveal their professions.
174:
175: Darvok Warhelm introduces himself and assumes that the two intruders may be bandits. Fearful, he urges them to take whatever they desire. To alleviate their concerns, Shurrheath Narvarax lowers his shield and sword. Still acclimating to his presence in the material realm of DragonsGuard, his manners have yet to fully develop. Darvok Warhelm invites Shurrheath Narvarax to a table outside their in-progress home, which he and Torga Warhelm are constructing together. The four of them sit together, enjoying forest fruits and engaging in casual conversation.
176:
177: During their conversation, Shurrheath Narvarax notices a dwarven bath near the river's edge, accompanied by a small wooden bucket. Curious, Fenwyn Fizzlebit asks Darvok Warhelm about the grave located on the south side of the bridge. Darvok Warhelm recounts tales of dark spirits haunting the mine. The dwarves have been attempting to retrieve the iron necessary for their homestead but were met with the inexplicable death of their friend who had been mining there. Darvok Warhelm suspects the spirits are to blame and refuses to venture into the mine at night. He asks Shurrheath Narvarax and Fenwyn Fizzlebit if they would be willing to investigate.
178:
179: Although Darvok Warhelm and Torga Warhelm possess little gold, they offer a cartographer's kit in exchange. The dwarves seek to settle on the land they have begun to build upon, making the kit available for trade.
180:
181: Shurrheath Narvarax and Fenwyn Fizzlebit accept the task, recognizing the value of the cartographer's kit for their northward journey. Darvok Warhelm and Torga Warhelm escort them to the mine entrance, where an oil lamp hangs on the wall, providing light for the dwarves' mining endeavors. Fenwyn Fizzlebit seizes the oil lantern, preparing to explore the cave. Meanwhile, Shurrheath Narvarax approaches an aged iron gate at the cave's far end. With his large dragonborn hands, he attempts to jiggle the locked door, but his efforts result in him lunging forward and crashing through the gate. The gate, unable to swing open, collapses and detaches from the surrounding rock arch. Momentarily lying on the ground, Shurrheath Narvarax's ego suffers more than any physical injury. Fenwyn Fizzlebit steps over him, acknowledging his well-being, and proceeds into the newly exposed chamber of the cave.
182:
183: Inside, she discovers an unmarked sarcophagus crafted from exquisite marble, empty of any contents. Shurrheath Narvarax joins her near a well located at the room's center and calls out to Darvok Warhelm, "Fetch the bucket!" The sound of hurried footsteps in the distance indicates that Darvok Warhelm and Torga Warhelm are obediently following Shurrheath Narvarax's command, retreating from the mine.

185: Fenwyn Fizzlebit explores the vast chamber, where six evenly spaced pillars rise amidst the slate floors, indicating deliberate construction rather than a mere bat-filled cave. At the room's end, she spots another iron gate resembling the previous one. Lighting up the area using a wall sconce, she gestures to Shurrheath Narvarax, conveying that there is more to be discovered within the cave. Shurrheath Narvarax's head hovers near the central well, where he detects the sound of sloshing water below. Joining Fenwyn Fizzlebit, he smashes the second iron door with a powerful strike of his palm, effortlessly swinging it open.
186:
187: As Fenwyn Fizzlebit steps through the threshold, she is startled by a statue on her lefta near-replica of the one she encountered beneath The Copper Flask tavern. The stone half-ogre statue shows signs of cracks, caused by the rays of light from her oil lamp. Suddenly, the stone half-ogre sheds its rocky exterior, revealing its true form and lunging at Fenwyn Fizzlebit. The attack narrowly misses, eliciting a grunt from the half-ogre. Reacting swiftly, Shurrheath Narvarax draws his sword and lands a stab into the half-ogre's left femur. Enraged, the half-ogre retaliates with a swing of its battleaxe, striking Shurrheath Narvarax. Though wounded, Shurrheath Narvarax's chain mail armor absorbs most of the blow. Seizing the opportunity, he stabs the half-ogre's right femur, causing it to drop to its knees.
188:
189: Meanwhile, Fenwyn Fizzlebit deftly climbs onto the half-ogre's back, plunging her dagger into its neck. The half-ogre grasps at the gaping wound in its neck before collapsing face-first onto the ground, defeated.
190:
191: Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Shurrheath Narvarax make their way to the rear of the cave chamber, where they discover an opening. Adjacent to an altar containing holy water, they notice a knocker on the wall. Lifting Fenwyn Fizzlebit, Shurrheath Narvarax assists her in knocking three times. To their astonishment, the spirit of Dilmah Aunitae materializes before them. Dilmah Aunitae reveals that he was murdered by Gyliam and can only find release if the travelers splash holy water on him. Trapped in a purgatorial state, the remorseful former wizard earns the sympathy of Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Shurrheath Narvarax. Fenwyn Fizzlebit retrieves some holy water and liberates Dilmah Aunitae's tormented spirit. Grateful, Dilmah Aunitae offers his thanks before vanishing from the material realm.
192:
193: Suddenly, an ethereal scarecrow spirit swoops around them, transitioning from the ethereal realm into a solid, tangible form. Towering over Shurrheath Narvarax, the scarecrow boasts a pumpkin head adorned with a carved face. Reacting swiftly, Fenwyn Fizzlebit hurls her oil lamp at the Ethereal Scarecrow, causing it to burst into flames. In retaliation, the Ethereal Scarecrow spews a blue flame from its mouth toward Fenwyn Fizzlebit. Positioned near the holy water, Shurrheath Narvarax splashes the scarecrow with his shield, extinguishing part of the flame and allowing it to spread higher on the scarecrow's structure. Engaging in a fierce battle, the duo evades the flames while striking at the scarecrow's head. Eventually, Shurrheath Narvarax manages to directly stab into the Ethereal Scarecrow, triggering an explosive release of tension that shatters the scarecrow into fragments. Its pumpkin head tumbles to the ground, breaking apart. The blue flame, which had consumed the scarecrow's interior, meets its end as it dissipates within the puddle of holy water that Shurrheath Narvarax had previously splashed.
194:
195: Fenwyn Fizzlebit delves into the Ethereal Scarecrow and retrieves a Drift Globean enchanted orb that emits a magical daylight effect, hovering gracefully about five feet above the ground. This luminous globe accompanies its bearer, providing a valuable source of light as they navigate the remaining sections of the cave.
196:
197: As they explore their surroundings, they stumble upon a sealed marble portal adorned with an elvish inscription at its pinnacle, which reads "The City of the Manticore." At the base of the portal, they take note of a four-letter inscription in Draconic, unable to decipher its meaning. Fenwyn Fizzlebit seizes a lit torch from a wall sconce, illuminating their path.
198:
199: Returning to the previous room, they approach a door they had previously overlooked. Shurrheath Narvarax crashes into the door, and the torchlight reveals yet another chamber, along with another Half-Ogre statue. The statue, already fissured and crumbling under the influence of the torch's glow, releases the Half-Ogre from its captive state.

32: # The quest begins:
33:
34: Fenwyn Fizzlebit had a humble upbringing in a medium-sized forest gnome village nestled within the enchanting Llantwe Forest. Surrounded by moss-covered trees, shady ferns, and whimsical toadstools, she felt a deep affinity for nature from an early age. Unlike other gnomes, Fenwyn was always more drawn to solitude, finding solace in the company of animals and the tranquility of the forest. While she did have friends among her kin, Fenwyn often sought the quiet embrace of the stream, where she could immerse herself in the wonders of the natural world and communicate with the forest creatures. It was during one summer morning by the stream that she first encountered Shurrheath Narvarax, a young dragonborn. They quickly formed a bond and would meet sporadically, sharing their love for the serene wilderness.
35:
36: Fenwyn, whose name held the meaning of "champion of music" or "champion of harmony," discovered her innate druidic talents as a source of solace and connection with nature. Like a skilled bard tuning a lute, she harmonized her heart with the rhythm of the natural world. However, when she was just nine years old, tragedy struck her village as it fell victim to a merciless attack by human raiders. Escaping the destruction, Fenwyn found herself under the protection of Shurrheath Narvarax, who brought her to his own village, where his parents warmly embraced her as their own. Despite their kindness, Fenwyn couldn't shake the discomfort she felt around humans due to the traumatic raid. Instead, she sought refuge in a secluded hollow tree just beyond the borders of the village, creating her own sanctuary for the following two years.
37:
38:
39:
40: As time passed, Shurrheath Narvarax's parents grew worried when Fenwyn failed to return from an errand to a neighboring town. Fenwyn, being a young and trusting gnome with limited knowledge of the outside world, relied on the assurance that Shurrheath's parents would find him. But as days turned into weeks without any trace of her dear friend, Fenwyn's patience wore thin. Realizing that she had to take matters into her own hands, she decided to embark on a journey to find Shurrheath Narvarax, fully aware that his parents would disapprove of her solo quest. Under the cover of night, she quietly set out on her determined mission to reunite with her friend.
41:
42: Despite her earnest efforts, Fenwyn's search yielded no signs of Shurrheath Narvarax. Her journey took her to various places, including the Ruins of Castle Ravenloft, where she encountered an extraordinary talking raven. This wise creature recognized Fenwyn's potential as a powerful druid and offered to become her mentor. Intrigued by the raven's proposition, Fenwyn accepted and began her tutelage under the guidance of Vathis, the Raven Druid. Together, they worked to deepen Fenwyn's connection with animals and strengthen her natural abilities. However, Fenwyn's impatience got the better of her, and she prematurely left her training, driven by an unyielding determination to continue her search for Shurrheath Narvarax, despite her mentor's warnings that she was not yet ready.
43:
44: Continuing her quest, Fenwyn traveled near the Baramunz Highlands, where fate led her to the small hamlet of Gefny. She ventured forth, Fenwyn's heart filled with hope and determination as she tirelessly pursued any lead that might lead her to her cherished friend, Shurrheath Narvarax.

82: In that moment, Fenwyn understood that her encounter with Elysian was no mere coincidence. It was a calling, an invitation to embark on a transformative quest that would forever alter the course of her life. The vision had propelled her into a new realm of existence, where she would learn the secrets of the universe and discover her own true purpose. And with a renewed sense of awe and determination, Fenwyn Fizzlebit approached Elysian, ready to embrace the mysteries that awaited her.
83:
84: Elysian was a guardian of the mystical web that connected all living things in the natural world. As Fenwyn ventured deeper into her vision, she discovered the wood floor becoming partially opaque where she was then standing in a vast, celestial tapestry where every thread represented a life, a plant, or an animal.
85:
86: Elysian'seyes held a depth that mirrored the vastness of the universe itself, hinting at the profound knowledge and insights they possessed.
87:
88: > As Fenwyn approached Elysian, she felt a reverberation within her very soul.
89:
90:
91:
92: Elysian's voice, soft and melodious, resonated with an otherworldly quality. **They spoke to her in a language that transcended words,** conveying concepts and emotions through a symphony of ethereal whispers.

96:
97: > With their guidance, Elysian began to unveil the delicate threads of interconnectedness that weaved through the tapestry of existence. They revealed the interdependence of all living beings, emphasizing how each thread played a vital role in maintaining the balance and harmony of the natural world.
98:
99:
100:
101: "You must preserve the harmony of Dragon's Guard." she says
102:
103:
104: "There is an unbalace and chaos." she says
105:
106:
107: "You must seek solutions that respected the delicate equilibrium of nature, emphasizing that true power lay not in dominance but in understanding and nurturing the interconnected web of life." she says
108:
109:
110: Elysian also imparted upon Fenwyn the knowledge of forgotten rituals and ancient druidic practices, empowering her to channel the energy of the web and perform acts of healing and restoration. With their guidance, Fenwyn learned to tap into the harmonious forces that flowed through the natural world, using her abilities to mend damaged ecosystems, revive ailing flora, and calm turbulent elemental energies.
111:
112:
113: Throughout her journey, Fenwyn carried the lessons and insights gained from her encounter with Elysian. The enigmatic being's teachings continued to influence her choices and actions, guiding her toward the path of balance and preservation. Elysian's presence in her visions served as a constant reminder of the intricate interconnectedness of all life and the responsibility she bore as a guardian of Dragon's Guard.
114:

23: ## The Adventure - 2022-06-12 - A Journey into to Icewind Dale
24:
25: In the morning, Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Shurrheath Narvarax are pleasantly surprised when the staff delivers warm coffee outside their rooms. Gratefully accepting the coffee, they enter their respective rooms to engage in prayer and prepare themselves for the frigid weather ahead.
26:
27: Downstairs, Tali and GrynskBerylbore await their companions. GrynskBerylbore, though a tad disappointed that the adventurers are renting his boats for scientific purposes rather than fishing, is nonetheless content to earn some money by renting out his two boats. One boat is in excellent condition, which prompts Shurrheath Narvarax and Aunda Nedal to climb aboard. In contrast, Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Gilliam reluctantly take the other boat, which has suffered some damage but remains barely seaworthy.
28:
29: The two boats set out onto the icy waters of Maer Dualdon. Ice floes drift across the lake, posing a threat to the adventurers. Unfortunately, Fenwyn Fizzlebit's boat sustains further damage as an ice floe collides with its side. Although the boat starts taking on water, it is not a significant amount, and Fenwyn Fizzlebit and Gilliam should be able to manage. On the other hand, Shurrheath Narvarax and Aunda Nedal skillfully navigate their boat, successfully avoiding any collision with the treacherous ice floes.
30:
31: Once they reach open water and put some distance between themselves and the ice floes, the group secures their boats together. As they sit around, boredom begins to creep in. After about an hour, Gilliam decides to try his hand at fishing, hoping to alleviate the monotony. To his delight, Gilliam manages to catch some fish, but the rest of the party doesn't share his enthusiasm.
32:
33: Beneath their vessel, a mysterious shadow stirs, causing the rowboats to sway uneasily. Suddenly, a magnificent Plesiosaurus emerges from the depths, capturing Fenwyn Fizzlebit's attention. Utilizing her Speak with Animals spell, she attempts to communicate with the creature. To her surprise, the Plesiosaurus responds, saying, "I'm listening." Curious, Fenwyn Fizzlebit inquires if the Plesiosaurus intends any harm. The creature reveals that it was bestowed with the gift of anger by Ravisin to serve the frost maiden Auril, the Goddess of Winter and Ice. Auril desires suffering for the town of Bremen. As tension rises, the Plesiosaurus bites one of the boats. However, Shurrheath Narvarax manages to convince the creature to spare the fishermen by displaying anger and determination. The Plesiosaurus promises to no longer harm the villagers of Bremen and submerges into the depths of Maer Dualdon.
34:
35: Returning to Bremen, the party hears distant music emanating from the town. Upon reaching the docks, they are greeted by the excited Tali. In appreciation for their efforts, she offers them an Animal Friendship spell scroll and a modest sum of gold. Seeking respite, they enter a different establishment, the Evenkeel. Inside, they find only a dwarf bartender who regards them with curiosity, given the early hour. Puffing on his pipe, the dwarf pauses, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Sensing the tension, the adventurers swiftly retreat from the bar. Gilliam, meanwhile, visits a nearby fishing stand and sells the five fish he caught while waiting for the Plesiosaurus on Maer Dualdon. Eager to gather information, the group inquires among the villagers about Drizzt Do'Urden and Ravisin, but none can offer any leads.
36:
37: Moving forward, Fenwyn Fizzlebit, Shurrheath Narvarax, Aunda Nedal, and Gilliam arrive at the town hall, where they encounter Cora Mulphoon, a middle-aged human commoner. Desperate for help, she shares that her son, Huarwar, has been consumed by anger and has gone missing. Huarwar was part of a search party tasked with finding Speaker Shalescar after the speaker vanished during a blizzard. Cora discovered a shard resembling black ice in her son's room, but when she tried to approach it, Huarwar became hostile and threatened her. The following day, two tieflings offered Huarwar sanctuary in their castle, and he willingly left with them. Cora knows of only two castles in Ten Towns: one in Caer-Dineval and another in Caer-Konig. The adventurers, moved by Cora's plea, agree to locate her son. Expressing her gratitude, Cora bids them farewell. Equipped with weather coats and snowshoes, the party departs Bremen, stopping by the chapel to retrieve the Drift Globe before continuing in the direction of Targos.

Based on my thorough search through the .exports/dragons_guard directory and the FVTT world data, I've found the following information about Fenwyn Fizzlebit:
## Comprehensive Summary of Fenwyn Fizzlebit's Adventures
### Character Profile (from Compendium)
**Fenwyn Fizzlebit** is a small forest gnome druid with the following characteristics:
- **Appearance**: Three feet, three inches tall with long magenta-highlighted amethyst hair, pale aqua-tinged skin, and golden eyes resembling "shimmering sandstones set in crystalline waters"
- **Race**: Gnome
- **Class**: Druid (with Outlander background)
- **Alignment**: Chaotic Good
- **Stats**: STR 14, DEX 14, CON 18, INT 14, WIS 15, CHA 14
- **HP**: 53/89
- **Languages**: Common, Druidic, Elvish, Gnomish
### Personality Traits
- **Outlander Traits**: Driven by wanderlust, more comfortable around animals than people
- **Ideals**: "Life is like the seasons, in constant change, and we must change with it" (Chaotic)
- **Bond**: "An injury to the unspoiled wilderness of my home is an injury to me"
- **Flaw**: "There's no room for caution in a life lived to the fullest"
- **Treasured Item**: A small bronze bowl engraved with animal images
- **Mentor**: A raven named Vathis (meaning "black wings" in elvish)
### Origin Story
Fenwyn grew up in a medium-sized forest gnome village in Llantwe Forest, preferring solitude and animal company. At age 9, her village was destroyed by human raiders. She was saved by **Shurrheath Narvarax**, a dragonborn who had come to meet her at the stream. Shurrheath took her to his village where his parents cared for her, but Fenwyn, uncomfortable around humans after the raid, lived in a secluded hollow tree outside the village for two years.
When Shurrheath disappeared, Fenwyn (at age 15) set out to find him. Along the way, near The Ruins of Castle Ravenloft, she encountered Vathis, a talking raven who offered to train her in druidic arts. Despite warnings, she grew impatient and left her tutelage to continue searching. She eventually found the small hamlet of **Gefny**. Her owl bear companion is named **Owlfred**.
The name "Fenwyn" means "champion of music" or "champion of harmony" - a fitting name for the kind druid who tunes her heart to perfection.
### Adventure Log: Sunblight Fortress
**Session Notes from Entering the Sunblight Fortress:**
The following key events were recorded in the adventure logs:
1. **x2**: Owl bear (Owlfred) killed a duegar
2. **x3**: Death of a duegar
3. **x4**: Discovery of a map of ten towns
4. **Fun Moment**: Looting a poop bucket - mage hand used by Rev - gross! :-)
5. **x6**: **Fenwyn finds an elevator going up and down the fortress** - This appears to be a key exploration moment
6. **x5**: A treasure trap was sprung
7. **x8**: **Grandolpha Muzgart invites Fenwyn to eat** - An important NPC interaction
**Later Notes from "A New Day in the Sunblight Fortress":**
- The trio (presumably Fenwyn and companions) begin a new day after spending a night in the forge
**"Late into the Night at Sunblight":**
- Early morning in X8 - the trio sits for food in Sunblight's fortress
### Party Members/Companions
Based on the journal entries and FVTT data, Fenwyn's party includes:
- **Rev** (appears to be a party member who used mage hand)

- **Reverence Towerfall** (party member)
### Notable NPCs Encountered
- **Grandolpha Muzgart** - Invited Fenwyn to eat in the fortress
- **Vathis the Raven Druid** - Fenwyn's mentor in druidic arts
- **Shurrheath Narvarax** - Dragonborn friend and rescuer
### Key Adventure Moments
1. **Discovery of the Fortress Elevator** - Fenwyn found an elevator system allowing movement up and down the fortress, likely a crucial gameplay mechanic
2. **Treasure Trap** - The party sprung a trap that contained treasure
3. **Duegar Combat** - Multiple encounters with duegar enemies, with Fenwyn's owl bear Owlfred participating in combat
4. **Social Interaction** - Being invited to eat by Grandolpha Muzgart, suggesting potential alliance or friendship building
5. **Exploration of Multiple Floors** - The "x" room numbers (x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x8) suggest the fortress has multiple levels that the party explored
### Locations Mentioned
- **Sunblight Fortress** - Primary adventure location with multiple levels (x2 through x8)
- **Llantwe Forest** - Fenwyn's childhood home and the site of her village's destruction
- **Gefny** - A small hamlet where Fenwyn arrived while searching for Shurrheath
- **The Ruins of Castle Ravenloft** - Location where Vathis the Raven Druid appeared
- **The City of The Manticore** - Where Shurrheath's family resides
### Compendium Information
The character data was found in the FVTT compendium (actors.db) with detailed biography, spells, and statistics. The character token shows as "Fenwwyn Fizzlebit" (with double 'w') in the FVTT scenes, with the avatar image located at `tokenizer/pc-images/fenwwyn_fizzlebit.Avatar.webp`.
---
**Note**: The adventure content found is primarily from the Sunblight Fortress dungeon exploration. Searches for Bremen and Gefny adventure logs in the journal files did not yield specific adventure entries, though Gefny is mentioned in Fenwyn's backstory as a location she encountered during her quest to find Shurrheath. The session notes are sparse but provide key moments from their time in the Sunblight Fortress.

Fenwyn grew up in a medium-sized gnome village in Llantwe Forest, preferring solitude and animal companionship. At age 9, tragedy struck—her village was destroyed by human raiders. She was saved by Shurrheath Narvarax, a young dragonborn who had come to meet her at the stream where they'd formed a bond.
Shurrheath brought her to his village where his parents cared for her, but Fenwyn, traumatized by the raid and uncomfortable around humans, lived in a secluded hollow tree outside the village for two years.
When Shurrheath disappeared, 15-year-old Fenwyn embarked on a quest to find him. Near Castle Ravenloft, she encountered Vathis, a talking raven who offered to train her as a druid. Despite his warnings, she grew impatient and left prematurely to continue her search, eventually arriving at the hamlet of Gefny.
Fenwyn arrived in Gefny and met Helmder Coinbuster at The Copper Flask tavern. She discovered:
- Helmder is Ziri's father, but they're cursed—they can't love each other for more than 36.5 tendays
- An underground dungeon beneath the tavern with a Half-Ogre Statue of Gefney
- A Demon Statue of Obsidian and ancient magic
Key Events:
- Fenwyn and Ziri descended into the dungeon, defeating the Half-Ogre
- Discovered the library with two mysterious Black Books of Gyliam
- Learned Gyliam, the library owner, cast the Ancient Curse on the Coinbuster family
- Journeyed to Gyliam's mountain home and found the curse spell
- Returned to find the library burning with blue fire
- Confronted Gyliam who opened a portal to an ice castle
- An Ice Demon emerged, shattering the ice shackles binding Helmder and Ziri
- Found Shurrheath Narvarax unconscious in a jail cell—her childhood friend!
- Shurrheath had been in Frostfell a century ago, serving on the Wings of Dread
- Received a Bag of Holding as a reward from Helmder
- Departed north toward the City of the Manticore with Shurrheath
- Explored a mine with dwarves Darvok and Torga Warhelm
- Discovered an altar, defeated another Half-Ogre, and liberated the spirit of Dilmah Aunitae
- Found a Drift Globe and a marble portal to the City of the Manticore
Fenwyn and Shurrheath rented boats on Maer Dualdon lake with companions Aunda Nedal and Gilliam.
Key Events:
- Fenwyn's boat damaged by ice floes
- A Plesiosaurus emerged from the lake, sent by Ravisin to serve Auril (frost maiden)
- Used Speak with Animals to communicate with the creature
- Convinced the Plesiosaurus to spare the villagers
- Met Cora Mulphoon who requested help finding her son Huarwar
- Huarwar had been consumed by anger after finding black ice shards
- Set out toward Targos to find Huarwar
The party explored this multi-level fortress (rooms x2 through x8).
Key Moments:
- Owlfred killed a duergar (x2)
- Defeated another duergar (x3)
- Found a map of Ten Towns (x4)
- Fenwyn discovered an elevator going up and down the fortress
- A treasure trap was sprung (x5)
- Had a funny moment with mage hand and a poop bucket (Rev used it)
- Grandolpha Muzgart invited Fenwyn to eat (x8)
Fenwyn received a mystical vision from Elysian, a guardian of the mystical web connecting all life.
Key Insights:
- Elysian revealed Fenwyn's purpose as a guardian of Dragon's Guard
- Taught her about interconnectedness of all living things
- Imparted forgotten rituals and ancient druidic practices
- Charged her to preserve harmony and heal damaged ecosystems
- Empowered her to restore balance to the natural world
- Shurrheath Narvarax - Dragonborn, childhood friend, long-lost love interest, now pale-scaled instead of red
- Rev (Reverence Towerfall) - Party member who uses mage hand
- Owlfred - Fenwyn's owl bear companion
- Bag of Holding - Gift from Helmder, can hold 500 lbs and 64 cubic feet
- Drift Globe - Magical daylight orb from the mine
- Vicious Dagger - Personal weapon
- Mend Flora - Druidic spell/ability
Fenwyn's story is one of loss, resilience, and the enduring power of friendship. She's on a quest to find Shurrheath while fulfilling her druidic calling to protect the balance of nature in Dragon's Guard. Her adventures span from the forests of Llantwe to the icy waters of Maer Dualdon, the depths of underground dungeons, and the halls of Sunblight Fortress.
