UN/ECE Identifier

In UBL (and some other formats, like CII and EDIFACT) some objects reference to other objects using well-defined identifiers. For UBL and CII, this identification is done on the <ID> and <Code> elements (UBL uses the same elements as CII for this), in EDIFACT this may be done in a different way.

The <ID> element uses scheme* attributes. The <Code> element uses list* attributes. The identifier resolution starts at UN/ECE 3055, which defines the agencies.

1. schemeAgencyID and listAgencyID

The id of the agency listed in UN/ECE 3055. So ISO will have value 5 and UN/ECE will have value 6. See https://service.unece.org/trade/untdid/d24a/tred/tred3055.htm for all values.

1.1 schemeAgencyName and listAgencyName

The name of the agency referenced with the id in schemeAgencyID or listAgencyID.

2. schemeID and listID

The id of scheme or list defined by the agency.

2.1 schemeName and listName

The name of the scheme or list referenced with the id in schemeID or listID.

3. Others

When the scheme or list is known, some additional information can be given, like the version id of the scheme or list, or some URIs of the scheme/list or its data.

schemeDataURI and listSchemeURI

The data URI of the scheme or list.

schemeURI and listURI

The URI of the scheme or list.

schemeVersionID and listVersionID

The version id of the scheme or list.
