Pentesting Key Reference

Pentesting Key Reference

This is a reference sheet (mostly for my own use) on what keys go where. I'll start with elevator keys and work my way on as I obtain new ones. Most/all keys can be obtained online if you look hard enough. Feel free to reach out for my sources.

CRITICAL NOTES!

Elevators are extremely safe for normal use. Playing with elevators when you do not know what you're doing is extremely dangerous. Do not operate an elevator in any way outside of regular use unless you understand what you're doing, know how to operate it, and you have explicit permission to do so.

DO NOT ENTER THE HOISTWAY OF AN ELEVATOR. If you think you know what you're doing, you probably don't. I have never and will never enter a hoistway without being accompanied by a professional, and you shouldn't either. Almost all elevator injuries and deaths occur in the hoistway or when the elevator is operating outside normal use. This stuff is fun, but it can kill you. The fun is not worth the turmoil your family will go through when you inevitably injure your kill yourself by playing around with these machines.

ONLY use keys on locks you own or are authorized to use. Under many jurisdictions being in possesion of certain keys without approval can qualify as posession of burglary tools. Research your state and local laws. I am not responsible nor liable for any individual using the information herein in the commission of a crime. The information is provided as-is for educational purposes only. Putting any of these keys in locks you do not own constitutes several crimes depending on your locale, including Posession of Burglar's Tools and Attempted Burglary.

Secondary use column denotes a function that the key may have but is rare.
