| 5 - download mplayer from http://mplayerwin.sourceforge.net/downloads.html (download the 7z not the installer) | |
| 6 - download the latest 'static' ffmpeg from http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/ | |
| 7 - download mp4v2 from https://code.google.com/p/mp4v2/downloads/detail?name=mp4v2-r479-windows-binaries.zip&can=2&q= | |
| install cygwin, just click next and use the default options | |
| extract the ffmpeg archive and move all files in the bin directory to c:\cygwin64\bin | |
| extract the handbrake archive and move the exe as well as the 'fonts' dir to c:\cygwin64\bin | |
| extract the mkvtoolnix archive and move everything to c:\cygwin64\bin | |
| extract the mp4v2 archive and navigate to the appropriate folder in bin for your platform. move all files to c:\cygwin64\bin | |
| extract the video transcoding script archive and move all files to c:\cygwin64\home\[your username]\video-transcode | |
| in cygwin, navigate to your video of choice by typing "cd /cygdrive/" and your drive path. For instance D:\Movies would be "cd /cygdrive/d/Movies" | |
| type "~/transcode-video/transcode-video.sh [your file name here]" and enjoy video transcoding! |
