As per https://www.shogi.or.jp/faq/item/

Board (33.33 cm × 36.36 cm)
Vertical = 1 尺 (shaku) & 2 寸 (sun) or 12 寸 (sun) = 36.36 cm
Horizontal = 1 尺 (shaku) & 1 寸 (sun) or 11 寸 (sun) = 33.33 cm

Margin = 2.5 分 (bu) per side (7.575 mm or 0.7575 cm)

9x9 Playing Area (31.82 cm × 34.85 cm)
Vertical = 36.36 cm (12 sun) − 1.515 cm (2.5 bu × 2) = 34.845 cm
Horizontal = 33.33 (11 sun) − 1.515 cm (2.5 bu × 2) = 31.815 cm

Each Square yet not Really Square (3.54 cm × 3.87 cm)
Vertical = 34.845 cm ÷ 9 = 3.8716666667 cm
Horizontal = 31.815 cm ÷ 9 = 3.535 cm
