Template: Module 4 Action Plan

Module 4 Goals

By the end of mod 4 I would like to have the following completed:

• Receive one offer
• Go on 4 interviews
• Reach out to people at companies that I'm interested in on my Trello board
• Have a more active mentoring relationship / maybe find another mentor
• Go to at least 2 more meetups

Strategy To Achieve Goals:

• Apply to 3-4 jobs per week
• Cold outreach five times per week
• Reach out to potential mentors during week 1 of mod 4
• Check every monday for meetups that might interest me

Coding (both including your module 4 curriculum and anything outside of it):

• Code everyday
• Keep working on my personal project
• Make a personal website

Opportunities Research:

• I will utilize my trello board by keeping a list of companies that I am interested in and use it as reference to check back on those companies to see if they've added new positions
• Keep track of meetings with people/companies that I am interested in working for
• Cold Outreach has worked really well for me so far, so keep that up

Cold Outreach/Network:

• I have spoken to a few alumni about their job searches and am looking for a job beginning intermission based on their advice.
• I now 100% believe in the power of cold outreach
• I have completed three successful cold outreach experiences and am now comfortable reaching out to people.

Timeline:

• Intermission: apply to 4 jobs, complete 6 cold outreach emails, do an online mock technical interview.
• By week 2: complete 10 or more cold outreach emails and have completed 1 mock interview
• By week 3: complete 15 or more cold outreach emails and have completed 2 mock interview
• By week 5: complete 2 mock interviews and at least one real interview
• Spend time every day researching jobs

Module Tasks:

• Continue working on my resume
• Clean up GitHub and add READMEs
• Update LinkedIn
• Work on personal website, to be completed by end of Mod 4

Weekly Tasks:

• Week 2: 1 cold outreach email per day, mock interview, reach out to potential mentors
• Week 3: LinkedIn ready
• Week 4: mock interview, work on personal site, add ReadMes to GitHub
• Week 5: Have attended 2 meetups
• Week 6: 1 hour per day researching/applying to jobs, 1-2 cold outreach emails per day, complete personal site
