 Making this game work was an absolute mess. All I wanted was to drive arund in Shutoko in a rainy night.

 I have about 10 hours of play time in Steam. 1 of those hours is actually from playing the game.

 The follow are all of the steps I had to do.

 1. Install Assetto Corsa
 2. Right-click Assetto Corsa in Steam, go to Properties --> Compatibility, check the 'Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool' checkbox and choose Proton 5.0-10 from the dropdown list.
 3. It is reccommended to launch steam from a terminal, so that you can see log information. Launch Assetto Corsa. It is going to silently crash.
 4. Change the Proton version to GE-Proton8-3. 
 5. Launch Asseto Corsa agian. It is going to take a thousand years before giving you an error. Looking at the terminal where you opened Steam will show that it is actually installing lots of things.
 6. From now on, launching Asseto Corsa will work. It will load some things, play a cinematic, then get stuck in the loading screen
 7. You WILL need to use a custom launcher. The default one just sucks too bad.
 8. Download Content Manager from https://acstuff.ru/app.
 9. Run the following commands
    
    mkdir /path/to/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/244210/pfx/drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Steam/config
    ln -s $HOME/.steam/root/config/loginusers.vdf /path/to/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/244210/pfx/drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Steam/config/loginusers.vdf

 10. 'Copy Content Manager.exe' to the assetto corsa main directory (common/assettocorsa/) as 'Content Manager Safe.exe' 
 11. Go to steam, and set the following as the launch parameters

    ~/.steam/steam/compatibilitytools.d/GE-Proton8-3/proton waitforexitandrun  ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/assettocorsa/'Content Manager Safe.exe'; echo %command%
    
 12. Launch the game. This will open Content Manager.
 13. Set the installation folder to the result of ''Z:\home\'$USER'\.steam\root\steamapps\common\assettocorsa''
 14. Install 7z from Content Manager right away
 15. Now, launching Assetto Corsa from Steam should open Content Manager. It is not perfect, but much more stable compared to the default launcher.
 I sincerely reccomend disabling car preview in the Content Nanager Settings.
 16. Go to Patreon and subcribe to https://www.patreon.com/x4fab/. It's like a dollar.
 17. Download lights-patch-v0.1-79-preview5-full.zip. Do NOT download the 1.80 version. It will not work.
 18. Extract the contents of the zip to the main assetto corsa directory.
 19. Run protontricks -c winecfg 244210
 20. On the libraries tab, click Add. Write dwrite, and the click Ok. 
 21. You can now launch Assetto Corsa again.
 22. Some of the modifications of the Custom Shader Patch may crash the game. Set only what you need to active. 
 23. Download Sol from https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sol.24914/. This will give you a 7z file. Drag this file onto Content Manager. Install it.
 24. Make sure that WeatherFX is active. This allows you to control the weather and day cycle.
 25. Make sure the SOL Apps are active in Settings -> Assetto Corsa -> Python Apps
 26. Install Shutoko Revival Project from https://discord.com/channels/500246817833877505.

 You now should be able to drive around Shutoko in a rainy night.

 Make sure you go to Settings -> Assetto Corsa -> Controls and set the wheel / gamepad / keyboard controls for your setup.
