Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Samsung Account Reactivation Lock Bypass
  1. Downgrade phone to KitKat (4.4.4)
  2. Enter settings and enable ADB
    1. When in samsung account setup, enter text, select text and click on dictionary
    2. Press back and select "Internet Search" on the bottom
    3. In google, remove search terms and search for "Settings" app instead
      If it doesnt work, connect wifi and reboot so that google app can update in background.
    4. enable developer options and enable adb
    5. connect to computer using adb
      if the authorization prompt doesnt show up, go back to settings main page and try switching between simple and normal launcher modes few times
  3. Bypass Setup Wizard
    1. Use ADB to disable Samsung account app:
      pm block com.osp.app.signin
    2. Press home or restart to return to setup
    3. go through setup normally, it shouldnt ask you for samsung account
      if this doesnt work you can continue the next steps, but you have to use the enter settings and switch launcher mode trick to perform the following tasks
    4. activate the samsung account app again:
      pm unblock com.osp.app.signin
  4. Priviledge escalation
    1. use KingRoot or KingoRoot to obtain root priviledges
      try to mix them up and stuff, maybe it shows failure but the adb su binary might still work
      good luck
      You need root to continue
  5. Actually disable the Reactivation Lock
    1. prepare the alternative signin apk from this gist:
      base64 -d < signin.apk.base64 > signin.apk
    2. push the apk to the device:
      adb push signin.apk /sdcard
    3. use root to replace the samsung account app:
      adb shell
      su
      mount -o rw,remount /system
      cp /sdcard/signin.apk /system/priv-app/Samsungservice2_xxhdpi_RTL.apk
    4. remove predexed files
      rm /system/priv-app/Samsungservice2_xxhdpi_RTL.odex
      rm /data/dalvik-cache/system@priv-app@[email protected]
    5. soft reboot
      am restart
      a normal reboot probably won't work, since system seems to revert changes to stock magically
    6. disable reactivation lock in settings (settings -> security -> reactivation lock)
    7. verify it is actually disabled by booting into download mode
      it should say "REACTIVATION_LOCK(KK): OFF"
