Networking: I plan on attending Code for Denver. Also, I'm headed back home (Albuquerque) at the end of mod 2. There's a good chance I'll end up moving back there after Turing, so I plan to talk to a few people I know there over break.
I find their mission interesting.
I'd like to meet some people that are doing good things. I understand they have a bigger group that meets on Mondays and a smaller one on Thursdays.
It's my understanding that the follow up here is to continue going. If this group is on-mission, I'll find a home with them quickly and stick around. If not, I'll find another.
Warm Outreach: I have a friend (more of an acquaintence) back in Albuquerque that I have already scheduled to meet with over Thanksgiving break. His name is Chas and he works in CS for the University of New Mexico. As well, I've looked through the mentors list and found a few possibilities.
Even though I've lived in Albuquerque for much of my life, I don't know a lot about the tech community there. I know it's much smaller than the community in Denver, but I don't know the situation. Hopefully he'll have some information and perhaps a few other contacts.
Coffee? Thanksgiving break.
That all depends on how it goes. If it goes well and he's interested in looking at code and helping out, then I'll want to continue. If not, I've got a few other contacts in Albuquerque.
