Privacy Policy for Auto Focus Element

Last Updated: January 2026

1. Single Purpose Statement

The Auto Focus Element extension has a single, focused purpose: to automatically set keyboard focus on a user-defined web element (via CSS selectors) upon page load. This is designed to improve navigation efficiency and accessibility for the user.

2. Data Collection and Usage

  • No Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, sensitive information, or browsing history.
  • Local Storage: The CSS selectors you define are stored locally on your device using the chrome.storage API. This data is used solely to identify which element to focus on when you visit a specific domain.
  • No Data Transmission: No data is ever sent to external servers or third parties. All processing happens locally within your browser.

3. Permission Justification

  • Storage: Required to save your focus settings for each website.
  • ActiveTab: Used to identify the current website's domain so the correct selector can be applied.
  • Host Permissions (<all_urls>): Necessary to allow you to apply focus settings to any website of your choosing.

4. Security

As the extension does not collect any data, there is no risk of your personal information being compromised through our service.

5. Contact

If you have any questions regarding this privacy policy, you may contact the developer through the Chrome Web Store support channel.
