Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the Bayaaz mobile application (the "App") created by the developer.

1. Information Collection and Use

We respect your privacy. Bayaaz does not collect, store, or share any personal information from its users.

The App is designed to function as an offline-first utility for accessing religious lyrics (Kalaam) and prayers (Duas). It does not require user registration, login, or any personal credentials.

2. Data Synchronization

The App includes a synchronization feature to fetch the latest text updates from our self-hosted server. This process:

  • Uses your device's internet connection.
  • Sends only a timestamp to the server to request new data.
  • Does not transmit any personal identifiers, device IDs, or location data.

3. Third-Party Services

The App may include content served by third parties to enhance functionality:

  • YouTube API Services: The App uses the YouTube Player to display videos. By using this feature, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts: The App uses Google Fonts to display typography.

These services may collect technical data (such as IP addresses) as part of their standard operation to serve content, but the App itself does not facilitate the collection of user data for tracking purposes.

4. Permissions

The App requires the following permissions to function:

  • Internet: To download updates and stream media content.
  • Post Notifications: To inform you about successful data updates (Android 13+).
  • Bluetooth Scanning & Advertising: Used to find nearby devices broadcasting Bayaaz content and to share your current Kalaam with them ("Lyrics Drop" feature).
  • Location (Access Fine Location):
    • Android 11 and below: The Android operating system requires "Location" permission to perform Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning.
    • We DO NOT track your physical location. This permission is used solely to enable the Bluetooth scanning functionality required for the Lyrics Drop feature. We do not collect, store, or share your GPS or location data.
    • Android 12 and above: We use the neverForLocation flag, meaning the app does not request or access physical location data for Bluetooth operations.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
