Section 1: Calender

  • My routine will involve doing a small amount of activity every day of the week.
  • I am starting my mondays off with writing any follow up emails and starting new job research for the week.
  • Wednesdays I will be working on cover letters for the jobs I found early in the week.
  • Going into weekends I will finish up any applications and start doing code challenge practice.
  • All sections in yellow are pertaining to Job Hunt Tasks

Section 2: Short answer responses

  1. Why do you want mentoring in the job search?
  • I am looking to find a job as soon as possible. I would really like the oppurtunity to recieve input and guidance during this search. I would like help with what I can work on in my 'free time' to help my chances.
  1. How will you hold yourself accountable to balancing time for your job search and following your mentor and group's advice?
  • At this point in my time at turing, I feel like the job search is just as much, if not more important than my school work. I want to hold myself accountable by doing weekly self evauluations, and finding an accountability buddy within my group.
  1. What is the focus of your job search (timeline, ideal job, steps you’ve already taken)? Be as specific as you can.
  • At this point I've applied to about 6 different jobs. I've outreached with a handful of friends whose companies are hiring developers and attempted to connect with those developers on linked in before sending my applications. Unfortunately, all of these companies I've applied to are not seeking junior devs.
  • Ideally I will find work by the end of Feburary, I would looooove to work for a company that works with media, specifically music.
  • Many of the postings that i've seen that really interest me are for Python developers. So I have been taking a couple different Python Udemy courses in the last couple weeks to expand my skillset.
