Questionaire

  1. What motivates you?

    • I absolutely learning new technologies. I'm motivated to building my skillset and working with collaborative projects. I think I would be most motivated working for a company that values employee growth.
  2. How will you keep yourself going when faced with rejection in the job search?

    • Having already experienced some of this, I know what I'm in for when it comes to rejection. I know the road ahead will be very difficult but I am dedicated to moving forward and not getting hung up on rejection. I have a great support network that will help me through the process.
  3. How will you hold yourself accountable to your plans? (Ex: Attend Mod 5, meet with cohortmates, attend Kayt's coffee shop hours, etc.)

    • I will go to every Mod 5 session, work on accountability with my cohortmates. I want to do breif weekly instructors or at Kayt's office hours.
  4. How do you like to communicate?

    • I like communicating by phone and email but I feel the most engaged when I can meet face to face.
  5. What is your ideal job?

    • My ideal job would be at a small to mid size company, preferably for a company involved in the media industry. I work well in team based dynamics but I also really love having my own headspace and working on code by myself. I think I would really like remote work, but I'm comfortable moving out of state as well.
  6. What has been your approach to the job search so far?

    • Up until now I haven't gotten to focus on the job search as much as I would like. I have applied to 6 - 8 positions, but was only able to find contacts at about half of those. I got to a 4th round interview with the company SESAC (based out of Nashville), but was denied a few days ago.
    • My general approach has been to find and research companies I'm interested in working for. Then I go on linked in and try some cold outreach to that companies employees(I rarely get responses so I'll reach out to a few people). If I'm able to find a contact I will try to meet up with them or at least chat about the company via phone or email. After this I try applying to the job with a custom cover letter.
  7. What could you use help with?

    • I am very introverted and cold outreach is still pretty terrifying to me. It seems most my messages go unanswered and I could use some guidance on the best practice in reaching out to people.
    • I would say I need the most help with networking in general. I feel like I am a very strong coder but lacking the social capability to network effictively.
  8. Anything else you'd like Kayt to know?

    • While it would be really great to stay in Colorado, I am completley open to finding work in a different state. The sooner I find the job, the better for me.
  9. If you are not using Huntr, please include a link here to the job tracker you're using so that Kayt can follow along with your progress.
