8/20 Mock Interview with Adrienne Domingus

Questions:

  • If I type 'google.com' into my browser, tell me what all happens before it shows up on my screen
    • Request types
    • Request and response content
    • Status Codes & ranges
  • What languages have you used and what do you like and dislike about them?
  • What frameworks have you used and what do you like and dislike about them?
  • Tell me when you've used TDD and it's advantages and disadvantages
  • Tell me the difference between unit tests, functional tests, and integration tests
  • Whiteboard: Given an array of sequential stock prices, return to me the index of the point at which I should buy and the point at which I should sell to maximize profits

Reflection:

My mock interview with Adrienne was over Slack, which introduced a bit of complexity. What I excelled in was communication, Adrienne was impressed with how I communicated my thought process through the 'whiteboard' problem. Where I can continue to practice, is 1) definitely the Request/Response Cycle question, I need to be able to speak more thoroughly to that, and 2) speaking more eloquently to the skills and experience I have with JavaScript. Going through Ian Douglas' email series is definitely on my list.
